After reading about infant/toddler tickets being charged at full price at our home games I called every ticket office in C-USA along with Troy and South Alabama to check their policy. I actually didn't call Rice as they have more important issues but I verified on their web site. Below are the policies

Southern Miss- 3 & under are free
LaTech- 3 & under are free
UTEP 3 & under are free
North Texas 3 & under are free
Charlotte 3 & under are free
WKU 3 & under are free
Rice 3 & under are free
South Alabama 3 & under are free

FIU 2 & under are free
FAU 2 & under are free
Marshall 2 & under are free
MTSU 2 & under are free
ODU 2 & under are free
UTSA 2 & under are free
Troy 2 & under are free

This means our AD (per our athletic department) has chosen to be the only C-USA and non-SEC state school to charge for babies. I think that's a bad look and could cause issues Saturday as it's not been publicized heavily. My kid is three and loves game atmospheres. I have zero issue buying her a ticket. I just think this is not the correct policy for two & younger
Yeah, I went to the site for every school in C-USA and found where they all allow for children at least under the age of two free admission.

I've emailed several people at UAB with this information and responses have ranged from nonexistent to appreciative of the information.

I've been told the policy will be discussed but is likely to remain as is this year.

If you posted it in the other thread and I missed it I apologize. Things can get buried there. I just want everyone to see through this kind of stuff.

I did, but no need to apologize! I'm glad you called because at least one of the websites was fairly unclear and your calling is another level of verification. I also just looked up Conference USA.

Here is that information, with links:

Charlotte: "Everyone two (2) years of age and older must have a valid ticket to gain entry to Jerry Richardson Stadium. Admission for youth under the age of two is free of charge. "

FIU: "FIU Athletics requires everyone 2 years old and above to have a ticket for admission into all FIU Athletic events. Children under the age of 2 with free admission are not allowed to occupy an individual seat and must sit on the ticket holder's lap."

FAU: "All persons 3 years of age and older must have a ticket for admission to FAU football games. Children 2 & under do not need a ticket, but must sit on someone's lap."

Marshall: "Everyone age three (3) years and older must have a ticket to enter Joan C. Edwards Stadium and The Henderson Center."

LaTech: "All children 4 years or older must have a ticket. Any children younger than 4 years old get in for free."

MTSU: "Everyone who enters our facilities must have a ticket to enter EXCEPT children under the age of three."

North Texas: "Children under the age of 3 years old do not require a ticket."

Old Dominion: "All individuals must possess a valid ticket for entry into the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Children under two (2) years old are admitted free of charge for most events, as long as they sit on a lap."

Rice: "All persons age three (3) and over must have a ticket for admission to Rice University sporting events."

Southern Miss: "Infants (under 2 years of age) in arms are admitted free with the understanding that they sit in a parent's lap and do not occupy a seat."

UAB: "All persons regardless of age must have a ticket."

UTEP: "Children two years old or younger are admitted free (child must sit on lap of ticket patron accompanying the child)."

UTSA: "Ages three and up need a ticket for admission, but ages two and below do not require a ticket if they are able to sit on a lap."

WKU: "Everyone age three (3) years and older must have a ticket to enter any WKU Athletic Stadium and E.A. Diddle Arena."
Unfortunately, it seems like they just don't care. We need a new AD. Thank God for Bill Clark is all I have to say.
If our AD does not support us I cannot blindly cheer for him when he is presenting a game ball to someone or presenting a football to someone.

He needs to hear our displeasure in all non-violent forms.
They've gone radio silent on the email replies on this as far as I can tell.
And I'm guessing that this same AD will say that babies don't count toward attendance, since they sit on laps.

I hope all his doughnuts had a raw dough center this morning.

That sounds like a fair trade. No money, no seat, no attendance count. On the flipside, if you are suggesting he will charge them and then not let the turnstile spin for them, that's cold.

That's exactly what I'm saying he'll do.
It's time to make Marla Townsend or Brad Hardekopf the AD. Brad is a terrific fundraiser, and Marla is all UAB.

Haha well he's never replied to a single email I've sent. Mackin would get back to me same day. Brad will sometimes get back to me before I close my browser window.

I've gotten replies from Mark before, usually not to the tune I'd like to hear but a response nonetheless.

I have not received any replies from Marla.
He replied to me on this issue, but it was to tell me that he's passing the buck.

Marla is brand new on the job and probably trying to get a feel for what to say and what not to say.

Haha passing it to who? Who else's fault is this? If he's the athletic director, there's no one else to pass it to.

"an external staff of about 20+ folks who meet every week"
Well he needs to step up and be a leader or admit that someone on that external staff should take his place. This was his idea. He needs to own it.
