That would do wonders for DeKalb, the county and the state, but we'll see. They have a rail yard close, so that's another benefit. Time will tell.
Doesn't DeKalb County have extremely high property taxes? That would be a big hindrance but hopefully they can make it happen.

There's no rail yard in DeKalb. While it's close, Rochelle (in Ogle County) has a rail yard.

But there is a main line that they could connect to.
Hope it happens, but Illinois doesn't appear to be the best place for businesses to locate. The financial issues and taxes alone are off putting.
That being said, I hope DeKalb gets the factory. It would be a boon to the area.

Tax incentives are always a possibility
Really not sure why any business would want to put something new in Illinois but hope it happens for DeKalb!
When Boeing moved to Chicago they tax incentives the hell out of them. It's possible.

you better believe they do. cripplingly so. sycamore is even higher. but my guess is they will work something out.
DeKalb did not win the Toyota/Mazda plant. They finished fourth out of 11 and Toyota is now looking at just the cities in the southeast.
