Look who comes in at #10, 39, and 128.

Where would we rank?
Check out #120 too
I liked #105
And #110...I'm guessing Word and Eldridge are "happier" now

I know 98 rating on revenue growth!

Revenue has growth 3x since 2010 and more than doubled from $13.2m to $30.3m since 2014!

Yep. Good for them. Recruiting trend = 1. Ouch!
#128 has a 95 rating on recruiting.

Will be interesting to see if that pays off for them. It's basically all they've got.
How Rutgers isn't at the bottom, I cannot understand.
Why is Michigan State so low?

I was under the assumption that you brought Ga Southern up to rain on the JMU to FBS parade. If you are determined to go down that route, given your response, we can do so, but you will be on the losing end.....

JMU would have a far greater recruiting advantage than Ga Southern's 1. ODU is at 17, App State is 34, JMU would fall in the middle.

Ga Southern has 41 in coaching stability. Mike Houston would be here forever if we were FBS (similar to Bobby Wilder). ODU has 88 rating there. Dukes jump even farther ahead of Ga Southern

Twitter ratings?!?! Did you see what JMU did to Lindsay and Lee Fitting for College Gameday? Dukes would crush the Ga Southern rating of 33.

I'll wash the program power and rivalry dominance and it's easy to say that if this was JMU's first year in an FBS conference they would be much closer to ODU's rating than Ga Southern's.

Nope. Just mentioned them because they are mentioned here often.

Being from South GA originally with some old friends and family who are fans of and in 2 cases alums of GSU, I see them very differently than a lot of what is preached here. The low rating didn't surprise me. They have developed such a high standard of winning, they aren't used to what they've seen of late. Losing to Ga State was embarrassing. They have a new O-Coordinator (after their co-Coordinators were let go and then they each subsequently sued GSU). They've done well taking the scraps from the SEC and ACC over the years. They were a great destination as well for D1A transfers who didn't want to sit out a year. Will be interesting to see if they get back towards the top of the SBC.

I truthfully don't view them any different today than I did when they were in D1AA. They are not a "national university" and never will be. I don't consider them as one of JMU's "peers" either. But, that's just me perhaps.
I decided to check out some prospective conferences to see which ones have the highest average fan happiness. The first average includes all schools, while the second eliminates the top and bottom team. The lower the number, the better.
Disclaimer: Totally basing this on the rankings received, so take from this what you will.
Yes, I was bored.

AAC:
Avg 1: 69.16
Avg 2: 67.9

CUSA:
Avg 1: 82.0
Avg 2: 82.1

MAC:
Avg 1: 81.6
Avg 2: 83.7

Sun Belt:
Avg 1: 82.36
Avg 2: 85.3

The AAC is the hands down winner, but they aren't a realistic destination for us right now.
I was surprised how closely "ranked" these conferences were. I was expecting the MAC to be much lower due to attendance, but based on this article, that doesn't appear to be the case in regards to fan happiness. CUSA was the most rounded conference.. no upper or lower team really had much of an impact on their total result. MAC had more teams in the top 100 (9 of 12), followed by CUSA (8 of 13), and then Sun Belt (6 of 11).
Taking the Sun Belt out of the equation, I would say both CUSA and MAC are fairly equal when it comes to fan happiness.

Based on the criteria used, their performance in 2016 combined with a few years slipping in the recruiting class rankings might have a lot to do with it.
Sportcenter's Facebook page posted the article with the caption:

"The Top 10 even includes an FCS team"

Ouch.

And their fan happiness ranking plummets haha. reality is a *****.

I saw an article posted on twitter awhile back (not an espn article). Its headline said "Two FCS teams scheduled by Purdue". One of the team's mentioned in the article was the AAC's Memphis. Ouch.
