i always find it interesting to read the opponent's fans thoughts.
Think this is UK's first trip to a non-P5/BCS team not named Louisville (when they were in CUSA) in the BCS/playoff era. From their POV, this is kind of a weird game.
Be bad if they losted again
They are buying into the $EC hype...just like last year. I like it.
I don't see them having a particularly good year, whether they beat us or not.
I guarantee you that if you went back to find the prediction thread from last year for them you would see the same thing.

Some of their fans (on that board anyway) acknowledge the fact that we came in to their place and won last year and the others still have their preseason glasses on.

Every fan base does this so I have no problem with it.

I've never been one to trash talk. Just show up and let the action do the talking. (cliche!)
I remember being up there last year and at one of their near-campus restaurants where some of their frat guys were hanging out. Got to talking with one and he asked if we thought we'd win. I was like "Well, I didn't travel all the way up here because I thought we'd lose, but with a new coach, you never know." He laughed and said "Y'all should win. We suck at football."

He was right. And so did we.
ON PAPER, they are no doubt deeper, with higher rated recruits.
Not sure what to expect from our Eagles. If the chip is back on the shoulder, could be interesting.

That chip got knocked off in 2012 and hasn't been back in force since then (saw the chip regain some stature in 2016, but resurfaced only in the first and last game in 2017)...

It all starts with a NASTY defense, and maybe, just maybe, Hop has us on the right track!04-cheers
I literally cannot imagine what it must be like to have an SEC ego.

They're a mighty confident bunch for someone who hasn't won a championship in 57 years (well, 41 years ago if you count a co-championship backed into via a forfeit) and lost to us on their own field last year. I get that they supposedly "turned the corner," but who's to say we won't be better this year, too? Mullens being gone is a huge red flag for us, but it's far from unheard of for a college QB to win his first start.

My thoughts exactly.
What happened at Tennessee the year after Peyton Manning left?

Of course we can. Just think about how we view the other crap teams in CUSA. Now project that on everyone they play.

Tee Martin won the national championship. I remember feeling gratified by that. Never did like Peyton Manning.

Speak for yourself. I usually view crap CUSA teams with the thought of, "We're gonna fudge this up & lose to these guys, aren't we?"
