My guess is 18,000. Wish there would be more but doubt it. Friday night does not help at all.
Pretty confident of over 20,000
13k, it's Labor Day weekend no students and many town people leave or will be at the High School game.

I think this is a pretty good guess, Ill go with 12,864

I think this is the first year we are going to start to realize the dent in season ticket sales from people not renewing just from not having any games October and beyond to go to.
16,500 I think you will get some casual college football fans show up just for the BC name.
Not sure how long high school games last, but we might get some late arrivals from the DeKalb high school game that starts at 7 a couple miles away. Or could just be potential fans NIU will lose that night.

Unfortunately, my thoughts exactly... I think we will be lucky to hit 13k. Hope I'm wrong

I'm gonna disagree. Ya it's Labor Day weekend, but it's a Friday night. Students still have classes on Friday and will likely stay til Saturday before they head home, especially the freshman. The weather will most likely be great. It's against an ACC team. I have friends who haven't attended a game in years who are going. One of them is flying in from NYC to catch the game with me. The buzz is there. I say 20,000.

Who are these college kids who want to go home on the weekend? Any weekend. My first two years I only went home for Christmas because they closed the dorms. As far as I'm concerned, you should never pass up any college weekend.

Great point--10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years later we all just wish we could have one more college weekend

Trust me, I'm with you guys! I never left campus to go home when I was in school and I still goto every home game and always will. However, it's always been a huge disappoint week after week these last 5 years seeing the turnout (especially from students). Until these students and fans start proving me wrong again, I'm not going to get my hopes up

However, $20k would be awesome and a great way to start

I hope there is 25k but I have been to every NIU home football game for over 15 years and I barely even see this game mentioned on the DougPound. I feel or hear zero buzz for the upcoming season. I would love to be wrong!

I honestly don't remember going home for Labor Day. School just started! What, missing mommie and daddy and need to get their dirty wash done?
I bet its about 9,000 give or take.
Folks will be hyped that football is back. There's only a few decent weather games to attend each season. This should be most people's top pick and a great way to kick off a long weekend. 18,950 <-----03-wink

I transferred in from Purdue, the Purdue that went 9-39 in the last 4 years, and constantly saw lots of ads and boilermaker promos everywhere on campus. Coming to NIU was a shock. I've seen frats with bare minimum budgets put on better recruitment events than athletics could promote football games. Like how hard is it to wrap a bus in an Athletics livery or put up a couple banners above sidewalks? Let's hope they can figure this out soon.

This lack of marketing - no matter how little it could cost - has been a constant with Athletics for years.
Attendance guess: 15,587.

Day of week and start time will prevent attendance from hitting 20K.

My guess is that this will be the best attendance we have all year, though Homecoming will be close.

Of course, this is all dependent on nice weather. Throw in rain, and attendance will really plummet.
17,392.
22,000. The first game always gets good attendance. Plus I'm bringing some friends with. Converting some Northwestern fans to Huskie fans.02-13-banana
There is just too much going on with Friday nights that time of year, its going to be less than people are projecting here
