This law passed the Legislature this spring and was signed by the Gov on 3/31 or 4/1. It gives consumers up to 17 days from the date of purchase or up to 500 miles (which ever comes first) to tell the dealer they purchased their vehicle from that something is wrong with the car. When they do, the dealer is now responsible for paying to fix engine, transmission, drive train, wheel bearings or water pump if they fail. Surprised Rauner signed it and that it went into effect so quickly (7/1/17)
I'm also surprised and have to think there was something political involved in him signing it. Normally Republicans couldn't give two ***** if a customer gets screwed over by their god - business.
