WKU Football coach Mike Sanford announced Justin Johnson will be leaving the football team after a week of fall camp. He will be returning to the basketball program, in time to participate in the Costa Rica three game exhibition starting this week. This move softens the blow of losing 5 star Michell Robinson, as Johnson was coming off a 2nd team All Conference Junior season as the leading returning scorer and rebound leader for the Tops

Good for WKU, and good for CUSA.

No matter how talented the pieces, the program cannot be successful without a solid foundation. My suspicion is that Coach Stansbury and his unsettled staff of assistant coaches do not have what it takes to be that foundation. Justin Johnson just might.
So since he practiced a week with the football team his scholarship counts towards football and not basketball. Smart move stansbury haha

Smart as now there won't be a vacant scholly with Mitchell's departure. I'm sure the football team can use JJ's vacated one as well
I'm telling you, there is much drama in the WKU MBB as there is in the Trump White House. Let's hope the outcomes aren't the same!

Just like the MSM and President Trump, I have little to nothing good to say about wku so I guess it's like it in that way.
NOt a moment too soon, he is really needed right now...Glad he came to his senses, football will always be there next season if he wants to play...

Nope, you can't do that. If a student doesn't practice and dress for a school then he can't receive that scholarship. He will either have to take the scholarship Robinson vacated or walk on.
Best move Stanz has made since he got the job.
Now Stanz needs to find a way to get him the ball.

He was begging for the ball in some games that I watched last year, only for a guard to chuck up a brick.

He did a good job of getting himself the ball with O boards, however.
Well this season we may have true PG, last season we had zero resemblance of a point guard...

I'd love to have that guy on our team. Hustles every play.

I agree 100%. I am a 59 year old white guy who can't jump or run, but would have done a better job at pg than Lomomba.
