Thought it was time to start a new (2018 signing class) thread. Perhaps hburg can pin it for us to add to over the next 6+ months. Recall, there will be a 3-day early signing period starting this year right before XMas (Dec. 20-22).

JMU football has received a verbal commitment today from North Stafford’s Devin Ravenel, brother of ex-Duke Brandon Ravenel.

Big few days of recruiting continues for JMU. Source says Dukes have received commitment from Kathleen HS (Lakeland, FL) WR Reggie Brown.

Looks like another very strong pick up.
Great news on the legacy pickups! Wonder if they'll both wind up at WR like their older brothers. Young Ravenel was recruited to play WR, but only played in about half the games last year due to injury. This year he is slated to play QB. The younger Davis currently plays slot WR and FS. Like their older brothers, both will come in on the slim side- nothing a good strength coach and D-Hall can't fix. Anybody got intel on whether other schools showed interest?

Looks like another very strong pick up.
Brown looks to be a superior athlete and will make a great addition if he signs.
The WR Justin McGriff (on the tape near the end) is also rated a 3 Star athlete and currently is committed to UCF, but says he'll "look around." McGriff is a big body (6'6") and would be an exciting athlete in the vein of Macy Brooks and Daniel Brown.

JMU picking up momentum on recruiting trail. Kidwell had offers from Villanova, UNH, Liberty, Robert Morris and Monmouth.
We've picked up a verbal from Nick Kidwell. OL from Boonsboro in MD.

JMU has received a commitment from class of 2018 Hershey HS (Hershey, Pa.) tight end Drew Painter. Had offers from multiple FBS/FCS schools.
love all the early commits, but damn, we need to slow down.

My nephew and niece went to South Pointe HS. They have had some great players and teams (at one point I believe in the 3rd year the school was open they were ranked #1 by USA Today in football) Jadeveon Clowney went there.
UVA is trying to poach verbal commit Devin Ravenel. Enjoy it ladies and gentlemen. The University of our state, in the Atlantic Coast Conference, wants OUR recruits, from a "Division 2 school".
If that isn't rock bottom, I don't know what is.

Good luck with that. Not only is he Brandon's younger brother, but Brandon is also an assistant coach at NSHS. I highly doubt we will see Devin waver...
