Good: I think this is good and I hope this allows us to sell a lot more season tickets.
Bad: Man I could've saved money and I really want another flag.

This offer expires at the end of the day today (Friday, July 28th)... so be sure to tell as many people as possible before the end of the day!

I look at it this way. They tried to kill UAB football, they thought they had. It wasn't just the big money folks who brought it back, it was the passion and fight of the little guys who wouldn't be quiet and wouldn't go away.

To me its perfectly ok that UAB expects those that fought the fight to step up and lead the way both financially and otherwise. Sure it would be nice to not pay more than other people, but this first season especially its not so much the win total on the field thats important, its the wins we get from people in seats and money flowing into UAB football that are going to show the world that UAB football is here to stay.

We are expecting our first child this fall, and its very likely I'll miss some of the home games and I honestly doubt my wife will go to any after the first one. By any objective measure it did not make financial sense for me to even get season tickets.

The thing is, I remember how angry I felt when they took UAB football from me. I pledged that I would by season tickets if it came back. I said I'd donate more, that I would do more, if only football would return... It returned.

So I upped my blazer booster contribution, its not like you are going to see me hobnobbing in the champions club, but I did what I could. I paid full price for my season tickets even though I knew there would be discounts available if I were patient. My wife got offered some of the discounted tickets I alluded to through her work, and we are going to get a pair of those and try and find a home for them each week.

The Return is happening September 2nd, barely over a month from now! The part I played in it happening was infinitesimally small, and many if not most of those that post on here can rightfully claim to have done much more, but when Coach Clark leads the team out against A&M I'll definitely feel proud just the same, and no way in hell will I pause to begrudge having had to pay more.

Good post. I agree with you and congrats my wife and I are also expecting our first child this November. I bought and paid for all three of my season tickets even though she probably won't make it to any games after the first one. Heck she might not even make it to the first game since it's a 230 kick but I'll be bringing my dad and someone if she doesn't.
At that price I decided to double what I was going to get. Now if I could just get through
If any of you all, or your spouse/significant other, are an educator and in AEA, you are eligible for buy one get one free tickets. I just discovered it a few days ago. Unfortunately, I had already bought individual tickets for the first game to go along with my season tickets, but I'll be using the promo to buy tickets for friends to games later in the season. The "valid through" date will change depending on when you activate/download the offer from the AEA "My Deals."
