I do not understand the right's fascination with anti-semitism when said group is overwhelmingly against the right of center political ideology.

Anthropologically, yes. However, anti-Semitism is generally reserved for Jews. Also, it is very important to understand the difference between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism.
