Nervous about our QB situation.

Sent from my SM-G900T using CSNbbs mobile app
I'm excited about the QB situation. . Looks like we will have a good healthy competition. We have had three great QB's since 2009 Who ever comes out of the summer as the starter will be the fourth great QB.
The QB situation should be exciting as we have 4 FBS caliber QBs competing for the start. We will have the best QB for the job. If no one else gets in trouble, I really feel like Blake Larussa and Jordan Hoy is going to win the starting job. Why both? We will see them both during the Albany game and whoever makes the explosive plays will win the starting job. I've seen JH. He is fast!! He remains me of Colin Kapernick.
What about Drayton Arnold?

This is all my opinion. I wasn't all that impressed with him at the spring game. I dont think he is quite ready yet. Him and Brandon Sinclair are good friends and I did see trust when he handed the ball off to Sinclair during that game. Sinclair looks like he will develop to have a big frame like Ezekiel Elliott from Ohio State. The QB might not matter to much if we have a strong Offensive line and bigger running backs. Did anyone see the 2 tight end formations at the spring game? That looked like a Jim Harbaugh O-Line.
so far everything but the answer asked for. Maybe no one knows. I don't.

In the spring game Larussa seemed to have a better grasp of what we are doing offensively. He was also more accurate with the ball and went through his progressions better.

As should be expected given his experience in the system. The onus is on one of the newcomers to prove to the coaches that they deserve to start.
I have complete faith in Ron Whitcomb to develop the next great Quarterback at ODU. He is a great developer of talent and a very under rated QB coach. Have faith.

Steven Williams Jr. is the answer. Immensely talented and a great leader. Will be a 4 year starter beginning either this year or next.

Agree that he looks awesome...

Will Coach redshirt him?
I really like what I saw in his videos, but one drawback I have found on Williams is that his completion percentage will need to improve from his high school overall rate of 52%. This may be the major reason he did not have substantial numbers of offers from the P5 schools. He was a 50% passer his junior year and a 55% passer his senior year. One possible reason could be a system that emphasized the long ball, but he definitely needs to be hitting 65% or so if he is going to start for the Monarchs. Whitcomb will have some work to do, and if anything, this could be a primary reason to put the redshirt on him. I do like that his percentage went up and his intereceptions went down from his junior to his senior year.

I agree for most part but DW had a sub 60% completion percentage bc the team instilled in him they would rather him throw an incomplete pass than an INT and he was really safe with decisions.
Not to be Debbie Downer but we have 4 QB's with combined FBS starts of what..... 1 game, 0 games?

We play VA Tech and UNC in about... 7 weeks. I don't know... that gives me cause for concern.
We're not going to beat those 2 teams, not yet at least
I think Williams will probably redshirt, and it will be interesting to hear about his development over the course of the next year. I just hope we've learned our lesson about revving up the hype machine at that position. I'm more interested in hearing about any given down on the play-by-play than what-if and he-could.

The kid is a freshman.... I doubt his leadership is at the level of great.

I have reports that he is already a leader and the most talented QB ODU has ever had, including Heinicke. Not a guarantee on how he will perform, but the outlook is very good.

Same "reports" were said about Bentley.
