Been downhill for UMKC ever since. Undefeated in the Mid-Con until then. He did travel.

11-0 in Mid-Con entering that game.
Crimson, the numbers in that article are not accurate. This is the money that the Sun Belt generated from the CFP this past season:

http://www.scout.com/college/arkansas-st...ff-revenue

The revenue per school was:

Sun Belt Conference $17,115,246 per school average $1,555,931

Even if the Sun Belt took some out for travel subsidies and bowl appearances, NMSU should still get more than $250,000. Idaho said in 2016 that they received $800,000 from the CFP. That was 2016. 2017 was even more lucrative for the conference. Even an independent like UMASS got $310,000 in 2017. There is no way NMSU received just $250,000 from Sun Belt football.

in the WAC, if every school got $100,000 (all seven eligible), where did the rest of the money go? There would be $1 million in WAC distributions missing? Again, that number is not accurate.

I still occasionally think of that crazy '05 ChiSt/UMKC game when both teams were rolling.

What's cool about KC (relative to urban Midwest extension campuses...UNO/UWM/IUPUI)
Omaha - Creighton, UNO hockey
Milwaukee - Bucks, Marquette
Indy - Pacers, Butler
Kansas City - nothing

There's a niche waiting within KC confines for the Kangaroos. Don't know if it'll be 5 years or 50 years, but it'll happen one day.
Royals, Chiefs...?

Currently mobile....away from the house or on the 'throne.'

Isnt Kansas University literally 30 minutes away from Kansas City?

I asked Groves about the numbers. He said he worded it wrong. In the article, the numbers are right on the nmsu side but they talk in terms of extra money not total distribution. He said he is going to fix some things in the article in regards to the SBC numbers.

One thing Groves did tell me was that NMSU has been forfeiting part of the payout to the SBC each year and this year we got $250,000. This around the figure I have heard we get each year. Our former AD made a **** deal with SBC, as far as payout is concerned. It would not surprise me that Idaho gets more money. You lumped NMSU and Idaho together. Which people really need to stop doing. Our agreement with the SBC are different in some ways. One thing that was in our contract, is if the SBC was ever seeking new members that NMSU be considered. To have that in our contract our former AD bought it.

As for the WAC, that is new money. An additional $100,000 in surplus this year. WAC schools will get the same next year. It has not been made clear what the overall distribution was this year for WAC schools.

A thing to keep in mind is that some of the money the WAC earns goes to covering all the conference tournaments. As none turn a profit for the WAC, especially the basketball tournament in Vegas, baseball in Mesa, swimming and diving in Huston and Indoor Track and Field in Moscow Idaho.

NMSU is not mismanaging its money, especially with the **** storm UNM has to deal with. If anything it has made our AD's job harder. As NMSU athletics will be looked at both internally and externally for any money mismanagement. INMSU athletics will likely be micromanaged even more.
Yes eventually Lawrence will be in Kansas City as growth continues.

We have to make the sweet 16 for Chicago St sake

Probably one of the better endings of a game that very few people have seen!!

I, for one, am glad to have UMKC in the conference, and root for them to do well. Much like edinburger said, I am thankful for UMKC, UTRGV, UVU, and the rest of the WAC. The WAC (at least) gives the opportunity for the school to participate in an NCAA tournament.
