Al Franken quit comedy to run for Senate. He also had a long history of thoughtful analysis of political issues prior to his run. He knew that he'd need to be seen as a serious candidate to win. He's in that seat for as long as he wants it. Because he has the respect of Minnesotans as a thoughtful and serious Senator. Others might not like Franken or his ideas, but I don't think anyone questions his fitness to serve in the Senate.

Kid Rock will be touring during his run for Senate. From looking at his website, I think we will be treated to a long stream of poorly considered and possible substance altered thoughts and statements during the campaign. I'm looking forward to the Kid Rock Adult Spring Break Cruise in April 2018.

I think Mr. Rock wins the GOP Primary though. This isn't going to help the GOP win Stabenow's seat in Michigan (People are going to be tired of low performing insult machines by 2018) and I think it might cause more moderates and country club Republicans to abandon the GOP brand. He's going to suck up oxygen from neighboring states too. By 2018, there will also be enough time for white Union members to realize that Trump isn't going to help them.

Corey Stewart announced yesterday as well that he's going after Tim Kaine's seat, promised a RUTHLESS campaign, and Mike Cernovich is considering a run in the House.

Most people didn't realize Al Franken ever really started comedically. So, was "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" part of his thoughtfulness or comedy? Don't forget that he was an awful radio host for a failed network too.

He's in a safe seat in MN because he's liberal, not due to his dynamic intellect. But, that is what MN wants, unfortunately.

He likely finished fourth place in a three person race. This is going nowhere, and you know it.

Corey Stewart isn't going to knock off Tim Kaine. If Trump couldn't win there, Stewart can't either. Running as a Trump clone, you'll get a vote total that matches Trumps.

Its possible that Cernovich can win a seat in Congress in a hopelessly gerrymandered seat. But none of those are in Orange County, California. So he'll have to carpetbag to do it. Voters in the GOP primary wont care, but general election voters will. Either way, the district he cherrypicks to run in will be likely represented by someone equally as cray-cray as Cernovich. Dude, the guy pled down a RAPE charge.

I want to say Kid Rock said something similar about running back in 2010? He was a very vocal opponent of OBama, but nothing ever came of it.

My guess is the same will happen here.. he's just getting his name out there, and using the uprising populism to do it this time around.
