Coach McGrath just added a transfer from local CFCC, Jacque Brown.

We had heard this previous, but it's official.
Nice to have another guard, but we really need some size on this team in what appears to be McGrath system with a center and power forward.
If he can really play, this is a good thing. I think that I read somewhere that he score like in the mid 20's in the East/West state game. That's a pretty impressive showing and tells me that he has some "step up" in the moment in him. That's something that people don't think about much. And, I've heard that he's fast/quick. Smaller guys often have big games/they have to be better.
He was MVP of the East/West game. Shoots at a high % from outside.
A bit small, but who's to say he couldn't be like the kid from Campbell that lit us up?
Ingram was small too, and he went to town on the CAA.

3 inches makes a big difference!(Save the that's what she said jokes)
Brown might not be this former Hawk's equal but keep in mind two words concerning size and ability - STAN SIMMONS.

Chris Clemons at Campbell is an absolute STUD! Not saying it can't happen, but it's much tougher. With a roster already height challenged, even harder IMO.

Did Brown get a scholarship?

I believe he will be a "Preferred" or "Priority" walkon. Meaning the moment a scholarship opens up he'd be in line to receive it.

Brown had stated previously he'd rather walkon at a D-I school than play scholarship ball at a D-II.
Don't we have two scholarships available right now?
College basketball: 7 players 6-feet and under who are making waves

I remember George Mason's Tony Skinn (who was shorter than the 6' he was listed at) doing real damage against us.
tony skinn is probably best known for his "chris paul move" and subsequent suspension in the CAA tourny.

If Tony had calmed his nerves with a couple of Claflin before that game, perhaps things would have turned out differently....
Have you been made a sales rep for Claflin yet? 03-wink
