Interesting excerpt from book "The Working Class Republican: Ronald Reagan and Blue-collar conservatism."
I think he is more accurately recapturing Teddy Roosevelt's magic.

America First is the modern Square Deal.
been trying to explain that concept for two years running.....

my only beef with reagan was stepping up the war on drugs.....and that was a Yuge mistake....

....just like shite 0'care....

Trump is the first one to pay attention/address (in my lifetime) real problems.....the rest have either used charm or charm to make it to stage two of continual failure.....

he doesn't give a **** about the dippos trying to win for 'everyone'.....that is endearing....

Ah, the age of crack. He was right to go after that. His mistake was putting all "drugs" lumped in one big ole basket.

after giving it more thought, I'm with you on this one....

I sometimes tend to gravitate towards those in my lifetime as muh fingers get in the way....

not only is that comparative valid, their temperament/rearing also have many parallels as well....

reagan was easily the most humble of the three...

DJT tries....he loses that one almost daily 03-wink
You guys don't know Theodore Roosevelt. Most liberal Republican president ever. Conservation, busting monopolistic businesses. Global interaction. All things Trump aint.
Trump is unintentionally being somewhat graceful by being the one to take the heat as he is getting out of toxic international agreements.

People would be more amicable towards him if he'd just watch what comes from his mouth. He's not Reagan in that regard. I think he's trying to build that shining city on the hill, but fails to communicate his point in an inclusive manner.

different times.....I'm only looking at it from the personality/rearing/means....

just to dumb it down so I don't have provide a dissertation....

he was a rich boy that did what it took to prove himself in his land of narcissism.....

that's the comparative.....

one could spin this 1440 degrees and still end in limbo w/o definition....

that's why I hated history profs the most.....

Different times...

Trump is the first populist we've had since Teddy.

From an ideological standpoint they are strikingly similar, even if their policies appear on their face to be different, even though they really aren't even.
Well...He does seem to have a bit of Reagan's teflon in him. Nothing seems to stick.
Hes no Reagan

The Republicans party was different back then. That's what y'all always say about segregationist Democrats. What's liberal about being anti-monopoly anyway? Capitalism at it's its core needs healthy competition. Hell what's liberal about conservation? Ever heard of Ducks Unlimited?

Bottom line, as others have said, different times. I think he was a good president. I also think Trump will be a good President.
