Chick-fil-A earns top spot as more Americans now prefer fast food over full-service dining, study says

Unlike the full-service industry’s slipping score, the fast food industry’s ASCI score remained constant at 79. Chick-fil-A took the top spot among its competitors in the industry for the third year in a row, with a score of 87; Panera Bread and Papa John’s tied for second at 82; and Subway and Arby’s took the fourth and fifth spots, with 81 and 80, respectively.

When it comes to full-service restaurants, Cracker Barrel remained in first place for a second year, with 84 points. Trailing closely behind were the Texas Roadhouse, with 82; Olive Garden and Red Lobster, both with 81; and Outback Steakhouse, with 80. Red Robin came in dead last of the 12 restaurants on ACSI’s list, with 73 points (down from 80 last year).

The 2016 American Consumer Satisfaction index has also determined that Americans prefer Dunkin Donuts to Starbucks (79 to 77); Chipotle over Taco Bell (79 to 76); and Burger King (77) over fellow hamburger chains like Wendy’s (76), Jack in the Box (75) or McDonald’s (69).

Wait I thought Chik Fil A was the devil and all of the lefties were boycotting it over supposed gay discrimination? Guess the left's desire for a tasty chicken sandwich won out over their lame attempt to make a point.
If I have to get fast food, I like chick fil a, Wendy's or cook out. But I prefer to not eat fast food.

The power of the Chick! Can't beat it for fast food quality and service IMO.

Yep. Best food and customer service.
Still never eating at one. It was simply there is not one in my town. Now?...it is point of pride that there is at least one fast food place I have not patronized. I have a personal ban on CF now.

it's actually the best of the 'rest'.....in a pinch, it produces "solid" 03-wink

this where I miss HOOD....

I'm still clueless why he got banned (my guess is he got ornery and frustrated too).....good for him.....we need more millennials that think that way.....
For work I occasionally have to go to their lab and I'm in contact with their project management team. I've done the job for McD's as well.

One big difference between CFA and McD's is what they do in response to "problems in the system". CFA often has problems with long lines because their property always has a small parking lot with an even smaller drive-thru area. Corporate works really hard to improve wait times/experience in their lines. We helped rollout new mobile POS units that allowed workers to go outside, take orders for the entire line, and even have them pay for it earlier. Research showed that being seen earlier made for a better customer service experience even if the wait was actually longer. In short, they throw a lot of resources in optimizing customer service.

McD's "improves" problems in customer service by adding stuff to the menu. The processes are largely the same and they don't do a good job of changing the culture around customer service.
