Been watching a fascinating U.S. Open, but now pulling for TCU to win one for Texas.

I hope TCU loses to set up an elimination match up between the Frogs and Aggies for the 3rd year in a row, this time in Omaha.

Rooting for CSF to win it but they'll have to come out of the loser's bracket.
Otherwise LSU or OSU, I guess.
Don't want A&M, TCU, or Louisville... Indifferent to FSU and Florida.

Through 7 innings, FL is up 3-0. TCU has 2 hits.

Fear the multicam, ESPN3. The best.

You got your wish.
It seems pretty obvious to me that the best two teams are in the same bracket (Oregon State and LSU). But I suppose it's still early and anything can happen. Both Oregon State and LSU might be hurting a bit - relatively speaking - in the starting pitcher department. Poche relieved for LSU yesterday which I guess means they go to Walker in the winner's bracket game against Oregon State?

Walker has arguably been LSU's best pitcher over the last month of the season. I certainly was impressed with him.

LSU was gifted yesterday's game by FSU, with 3 of their 5 runs unearned. FSU also ran themselves out of a couple innings. Put simply, LSU lucked out big time yesterday.

That was very bold of Mainieri to bring in Poche, but he knows how grim are your prospects in the losers' bracket.
You might call the runs gifted but I don't agree. The vets Duplantis and Freemen with their savvy and speed manufactured those runs. Make them make the plays. That's what aggression of the old ball coach. That approach was rewarded.
I agree that Eric Walker is throwing as well as anybody for LSU. No opponent wants to see Zack Hess approach the 8th or 9th. Make way for the Sandman!

I've been watching games and was tempted to start a thread, but figured most Parliamentarians were not interested.
Would be happy if A&M 2&Q's TCU.

Is the thread CWS or really Southwest Conference (SWC)?
Seems as though the schools that conspired to destroy the SWC and the schools left behind, scattered among 4 conferences, are doing much better baseball wise even factoring in the expansion of the field in the tourney

Good back and forth game with CSF leading FSU 4-3 with FSU hitting in the T7.
And FSU ties it up on a Inf. Single, dbl, Int BB, BB. Bases loaded and no outs.
And another walk makes it 5-4 FSU. Painful for CSF faithful.
Another inf. single makes it 6-4.

And 6-4 is the final. CSF is eliminated. FSU lives to play another day.

Hard to believe CSF have now lost 9 consecutive CWS games. Of course, on the positive side, they at least have continued to get there on a regular basis.

Pretty amazing that Fullerton has made it to the CWS nearly every other year (on average) since they started D1 play in 1975. That's long-term consistency for you.

OSU up on U of LS 8-0 in the 6th.
06-19-2017, 09:00 PM
You may notice that the umpires are not calling Joe Savery type strikes.
I don't think the LSU pitchers are used to not getting the calls

U of LS finally scores on a solo shot in B7. They now have 2 hits. OSU up 11-1 in T8.

Going to the 9th, OSU up 13-1!
