T8 TCU 4 Louisville 3
One conference will be eliminated tonight: ACC or Big XII
4-3 was the final. TCU will have to beat Florida twice, as will LSU with Oregon State.
LSU opens T2 with three straight hits and a safety squeeze bunt to take a 2-0 lead over Oregon State. OSU's pitcher (Thompson) has tossed ~33 pitches so far.
Alex Lange pulled in B8 after throwing 115 pitches. He's in line to hand OSU's Thompson his 1st loss of the year with LSU up 3-1.

Paging Keith Law
LSU gets to play OSU again, 3-1 final.
So, OSU can be beat!
Hopefully they pummel the Tigers.
TCU up early on UF, 2-0.

Maybe I should root from the frogs and tigers to win their respective brackets so then I could be assured at least one would lose?

Really? I thought everyone was a winner in sports these days?

Sarcasm really doesn't work well on this board.
Ironic right after our CWS win was when Schlosnagle (June 2003) was hired at TCU. Took him a bit of time to build the program but he really has it rolling now. Their current Omaha run is like ours in the mid 2000's.

With one exception ... at this point. 05-stirthepot
Quote:The pitching matchups look enticing. Oregon State will go with right-hander Drew Rasmussen, drafted No. 31 overall by Tampa Bay after he returned from an elbow injury in late April. Rasmussen pitched well in relief in the Beavers' CWS opener against Cal State Fullerton but started only four games this season.

LSU counters with right-hander Caleb Gilbert, who has pitched 11 innings in relief without giving up an earned run this month. Gilbert gets the ball because season-long starter Eric Walker cannot pitch. He experienced forearm pain in the third inning of the Tigers' 13-1 loss Monday to Oregon State.

Quote:The night game features a pitching rematch of the opener for both teams. Florida right-hander Alex Faedo gave up two hits in seven scoreless innings.

The Gators knocked TCU's Jared Janczak for three runs in four innings Sunday and saddled the right-hander with first loss in 10 decisions this season.
OSU already getting bad calls. First strikeout of the game was a ball in the opposite batters box.

You think with the $ espn and the P5 have pumped into the college game they could hire decent umpires. Or maybe ESPN just wants SEC teams in the finals.
They might just as well call the winner of the SEC tourney the CWS champion.
OSU flashing some slick D in the B1.
Calls are staying terrible for OSU. What a pathetic excuse of an umpire.
OSU doesn't have a chance for playing against 10+.

Called strike K for 2nd out in T3 was in the other batter's box....again.
To be fair, OSU lost the best pitcher in college baseball (statistically) before the start of the SR round. If the Beavers still had him, I think LSU would already be done.

But the thing is, I am pulling for LSU here (!!!), because there is no excuse for that situation to have even existed at OSU. If the Beavers somehow rally and win this thing, their record and title will be very tainted IMO.

I don't want LSU to win just because of Blue. But I also don't want Oregon State to win for any reason.
I don't want anybody to win. The reasons vary.
