I don't recall any 1 or 2 day period that has been as active or successful as the past two days have been. We've had 7 commitments over the past two days including four 3-star recruits (by 24/7 sports). Rice now has 12 commits altogether and is ranked 52nd nationally on that's site list - tops in CUSA.

Probably the best gets are twins Blake and Brant Kuithe of Katy (Cinco Ranch). They both had a lot of offers from power 5 conference schools like Arizona State, Colorado, Iowa State and Utah.
Congrats on the great start to recruiting. What do you attribute this start to?
I guess the new training facility on the north end of the stadium and a few decent off-season coaching hires?
I hope we can hold them.
Nice. At 78.42, your average rating per recruit is the lowest among the top 70 teams though, and 9th in C-USA. Still some good momentum going there though.
I follow recruiting for every team in CUSA every year. For Rice to have 13 commits this early is impressive. Most years Rice would not have this many in December. Its about time they get serious.
We had 14 commits at this time last year, and generally fill up in June/July after the camps each year, so I'm surprised at the depiction of our recruiting. If recent recruiting history holds, the lightly recruited players will stick with us, while the guys with better options will bail for them in the fall. Last year we were ranked at the top of the conference in June, and near the bottom of the conference at signing day.
We need Rice to get back to winning, I like this start for them. We need UTEP and Marshall to do the same, get back to winning. UTEP has soo much potential and backing in their community, just never could figure out their issues.

As long as they have found work, nothing worse than a unemployed hooker..

I'm thinking that recent recruiting history and the subsequent results would teach the staff that what their doing isn't working. App usually doesn't fill out their class until mid-January and their results on the field are the polar opposite of Rice.

Our recruiting pools have zero in common.

The principle stands unchanged; Rice finds their commits based on success at least two years before they can see the field, many App recruits are based on success from the previous season. That lapse in time could easily result in overestimation of the abilities of some commits resulting in poor performance for Rice.

Hey buddy, when your school has the academic requirements of Rice's then you can come over here and talk ****.

So you haven't offered players yet? Or you offer them but tell them you don't want them to commit until January?

Around here Belt schools don't get players with CUSA offers unless there's an academic issue or something. Tech has players committing at about the same pace as Rice and our on field results have been pretty good. Don't forget there's an early signing period now. Have fun filling out your class in January. Most of ours will be signed by then.
