Dang Troy is bringing everyone back. ULM at 13th 89.1%.

ULM will return all of its yardage 2018 unless someone transfers.

We were at 100% before spring practice. A walkon receiver that got most of his yards vs Savannah State has transferred to FCS, and one running back and two receivers have moved to defense. None of them accounted for significant yardage. 1.3% of our total offense according to Steele. We added #1 EMCC's top receiver as a deep threat, get back another deep threat from injury, and a big physical possession receiver from ineligibility (some NCAA stuff that may not have been his fault) who is a senior with a ton of experience. As long as the O-Line can get in shape (we have one of the best coaches in the country), we will be extremely dangerous offensively.

That's very true. I'm surprised he came back to Troy with Neal Brown to essentially take the same position, except now he has "co-offensive coordinator/O-line coach" by his name.

He's never not had a top-ranked O-Line where he has coached. He had the #1 O-Line in the country at Texas Tech for two straight years.

Makes me think that if Neal Brown leaves, if Matt Moore won't be hired from within. I'd have to imagine he has a brilliant offensive mind being under Tony Franklin and Neal Brown for so many years.

I knew ULL lost a lot but not that much.
I would assume that T Jones is a large amount of our yardage lost.

I need to see their defensive yards returning, but I like our chances.

From what I just played around with, this is not accurate
Total O yards (not incl ST) was 3728
QBs that left (grad/quit) amounted for 2615 of those yards or 70.1%. I don't know what numbers they used but you also can't quantify it too much with the unknowns we have in new QBs. So I'll take it with a grain of salt.

If any other TXST person wants to check my figures, please do. I think I picked up the right stats but, ya never know.

I believe QB and WR yards are counted separately. Losing your QB yards shouldn't also take away receiving experience. Just taking away all QB stats leaves you at 58%. I assume the other 10% is lost experience from RB and WR.

I'm working on percentages without the QB stats but I am held up waiting on info on one of the receivers that would be a RS soph. Not listed on 2017 roster, still has TXST on his FB page and do not recall anything on our forum that said he left the team.
Total offense is passing & rushing yards ... if you actually read the article - Today I will look at the % of yards returning. I took all of the yards each QB threw for as well as all of the individual rushing yards and receiving yards for each team. I then took all of the returning yards from 2016 and divided it into those for the percentage.
I have - for returners. (removing gone QBs, graduates and transfers)

rushing - 749 of 989 yds
receiving - 2171 (or 2204) of receiving

That's 2920 of 3628 yards returning (or 2953 if one WR is still on team)
Comes to 80.4% returning

Maybe I'm just doing this wrong?

Phil counts QB, RB, and WR as three separate entities. Because QB and WR are the same number, it's counted twice in his system. You should have 5,400 or so total.
1. I find using the same stats twice redundant
2. TXST gets penalized because they will have a new QB coming in.

Sorry, I like my results better. 05-stirthepot

As they should. It's an experience based chart. Sometimes, having a new QB works out for the better though. It should also be noted that this and its defensive counterpart have more merit at the beginning of the season. As teams get more experienced, what they had coming back means less.
