I didn't realize that the SBC had any kind of relationship with the Alt Right at all. I know over the past several years that there has been a big push to acknowledge race issues by the SBC - including an apology for supporting slavery plus making belief statements urging congregations to disavow racism, avoid displaying the confederate battle flag, etc.

But why is one of the black ministers in the convention so concerned with the Alt Right? I don't hear much about the alt right at all - except for mentions on this board and the rare mention in news articles.
One of the issues with the SBC is that Adrian Rogers is no longer alive.

The other issue with the SBC is that they are allowing some of the black ministers to act butthurt about Trump due to his racist remarks, of which I have heard none. In order to keep the black minister who did not support Trump in the group, they decided to put this statement out.

And after the shooting yesterday, I cant wait to see them put out a statement on Bernie supporters.

The issue with the SBC is the same one they had prior to Rogers becoming president, and the same issue that newspapers have. When you allow progressives to start calling the shots, you start bleeding support.
