The article makes a good point about these types of old rivalries help further bind together a league that is a conglomerate of teams that may not all be ecstatic about being here. Every little bit helps.

I hope the rivalry can be like that again. Not that I want anyone spit on but those were really fun times in the early 80s. That's when I became a TU basketball fan and when Levingsten, Carr, and McDanial came to town you knew you were in for a battle.

Good, the conference needs it. UCF and USF have built theirs out official and I expect Tulsa and WSU to get it done too. Others will develop in time, if we're together long enough.
I'm well aware of AAC rivalries. UCF/UConn is a great one that has gotten a lot of national pub these last few years.
I miss the rivalries we had in C-USA.

That said - I do NOT miss being in a conference with the Marshall Thundering Turds.
We did form a pretty nasty little rivalry with UCF during the C-USA days. It has lost a bit of its luster in the AAC.

Civil COnFLict UConn vs UCF (this got so bad this year UCF made UConn take back the trophy)
Teh Rivalry Tulsa vs. Houston
Gazebo Thunder Tulsa vs. Cincinnati (Tulsa is suppose to have a trophy this year with a Gazebo on top)

When I read "Gazebo Thunder" I visualize guys in Cincy and Tulsa jerseys riding motorcycles around inside a caged in Gazebo. Like going up on the rounded sides and everything.
I’m pumped for Tulsa and WSU to be in the same conference again. It’s always a good time talking to WSU fans, even though the series has been lopsided in recent history.

Miss Southern yes. Marsha no.
We still got everyone beat with Memphis/UAB, orange jumpsuits.
Always had pumped up games when Mikey was there.
Do miss the Memphis/Southern Miss series though.
I'd love to see the Wichita/Tulsa rivalry heat up. Hopefully Tulsa can take steps forward as a program and make it more fun.
Though we could end up seeing some intense I-35 action if Jank doesn't screw up SMU.
The trophy for Tulsa/WSU should be a bronze popcorn machine...
