When are the Tribune stations coming into the fold? Because there will an affiliate now where Sinclair didn't.

lol... I had to look it up. Wikipedia says its a "low power" station broadcasting from downtown Houston on over the air UHF channel 49. Most of the major networks are dicey in the burbs via antenna since the switch to HD. I doubt a low power signal has any shot of making it out here.

My current plan is to go to the game if I can set my schedule up for a roadie. Otherwise, I probably will be counting on some streaming option being available. 04-cheers

Effffffffff. I just switched FROM Sling to Vue and love it so much. Oh well. I guess the beauty of streaming is that I can switch my subscriptions without penalty.

Edit: Just found out that BeIN is headquartered in Doha, Qatar and owned by the Qatari government's Al Jazeera network. If anyone has been following the Qatar diplomatic crisis, this sudden drop kinda makes sense. Although, I'm hoping they are dropping out of necessity (i.e. the Al Jazeera network shutting down/not having the future funds for licenses) and not as "virtue signaling" by Playstation. This whole "crisis" (which I'm following closely because I'm flying through Qatar soon) is extremely dumb. It's a bunch of terrorists harboring countries accusing a small but growingly powerful country of talking too nice about terrorists. Anddd....I've gone way OT.

2nd Edit: C-USA fans might want to keep an eye on this. If Al Jazeera shuts down (which is one of the demands of the countries that are imposing the blockade) or Qatar has an economic crisis, then BeIN will likely have to scale back all of its programming to prevent financial collapse.

Prepare yourself for a much longer flight in and out of Doha. UAE, Saudi and Bahrain are restricting Qatar Airways from flying through their airspace (except a single flight path for entry and exit over Bahrain), which will force all flights into Iranian airspace as a go around. Oh and don't forget to check your laptop in your checked bag. (Personally, I would just leave it at home). Cheers!

I am not expecting BEIN to be a long term deal for CUSA, they only carry 1 football game a weekend and a 1 conference basketball game a week, so not a huge amount of games....I suspect we get used to watching a lot of our games on Twitter and Facebook, seems to me this is where CUSA games are headed...To me that option is much better than ESPN3...

That's the funny thing, I've been tracking our route (PHL-DOH) on FlightAware since the restrictions went into place and most have been arriving 45-50min early

If you expect to have CUSA games on cable TV I'm not sure how you won't be disappointed for a long time. The bottom line is we can watch our away games now. And as much as it sucks that we aren't on ESPN or CBS at least we have the option.

Same here. Actually sold my xbox one to get a ps4 just for Vue because of the sports channels. Thanks for sharing about the Qatar diplomatic crisis that might be one of the reasons Sony wanted out. Right now Sling is the only one that offers BeIN out of the major streaming services.

Yea I don't see why people are so upset. The ability to watch game on FB and twitter are way better moving into the future.
Just think the avg student of your school who mostly likely does not have cable can watch now.

Yep I have no issue with games on Twitter and FB live, would prefer it over ESPN9....
Any student sitting in the dorm or the library will see the game on whatever feed and can watch the game and can watch on the go.

Maybe it's because I am in my mid 20's that I favor this over many other fans. I know I the FAU boards the older fans seem upset.

This is because the older fans understand the importance of exposure as means for program development and building just as much as being able to "see my team." Some much older probably don't want to have to figure it out but there are a lot of us who see a bigger picture.

The problem is we are still in this transitory period between traditional television and the future of streaming and what's that's going to look like.

This brings way more exposer than having a game on a soccer channel or ESPN 8.
Yea, its transition, but 40 years ago people thought (not saying we will turn into this) the Big East putting games on small network most home didn't have was crazy.
The definition of TV is changing people are more on the go these days and now they can bring their team with them.
People who get stuck in fall wedding can now sit in the back and watch a game no matter where in the country they are.

Sling has a $10 World SPorts package if you only want it for beIN https://www.sling.com/international-sports

We all know we are never going to be on ESPN or any of the major networks anytime soon in primetime...So I am good with Twitter and FB live....Exposure is not something we are going to have on TV unless you want to play on a Tuesday night at 10 and be a lead in for the SEC game of the week...

AttackCoog, the Tribune affiliate is KIAH The CW Ch 39. The CW affiliates with Sinclair had the ASN games on...so it could be on that channel but I guess it depends how quickly the merger gets done/approved and ready to be affiliated with Stadium. Perhaps even if the merger isn't done but approved, they will show the Stadium broadcasts....
It'll be a waiting game...but hey at least now Houston is covered for the Stadium broadcasts in the near future.
