LSU defeated SLU 11-6.
I'm assuming Myers vs. Carlisle Koesttler will be the pitching match-up. We need Myers to be a veteran leader and give our staff a big pick-me-up with a deep outing. It will be interesting also to see who we start at 1B and 3B.
Probably Jeffries at 3rd, Moss at 1st.
Get the bats working, boys - we'll need them the next 3 games!

Might only need 7-10 runs in the first game, but just to be safe, about 25-30 runs in each of the last two games should suffice.

What happened to Sheppard?

Something called defense.
And ice cold at the plate

Why limit ourselves?
Weather delays may play havoc with pitching today
Graham said in his post game press conference that he wasn't sure who'd he start, but was leaning Jefferies. Kendall threw 10 pitches on Friday so he should be able to go the distance if he's pitching well.
A couple points:

1) Agreed that weather may play a role today. I wish they would have started the game prior to 3pm. Why not start at noon or 1, to give us time?

2) Is Dane Myers healthy to pitch? I'd have thought he'd be a better candidate than Jefferies.

Myers is definitely healthy to pitch. I think Graham thinks it affects him at the plate, which is fair I suppose. Either way, we will need both of them to pitch at some point today if we are to force a deciding game tomorrow.

Dane starting, but doubt he'll go more than 4 or 5 innings max. He's hardly pitched in the past month (due to our need to keep him for D at 3B), and his longest outing of his career was 6 innings in Cuba last November. Jefferies will no doubt start at 3B (and, likely, will be the first reliever since that keeps the DH in play after Myers returns to 3B). Sheppard should be back at 1B today. Coach was simply sending him a message after his disastrous Friday game (both offensively and, especially, defensively).

Tristan is getting his foot/toe x-rayed this morning. He wants to play, BUT if a bone is broken....

1. Just got back from a 4 mile walk. Sunny, blue skies in Baton Rouge at the moment, but extremely hot. Rain in forecast from 12:00 noon - 3:00pm, then clearing.

2. Dane's healthy. He's been limitted pitching largely due to our greater need for his defense at 3B.

I'm thinking if LSU were playing in the 3 pm game, they would have moved the time up. They probably don't care as much if the Rice-SLU game is delayed. Pretty poor sportsmanship on their part. I'm not sure if anything will get finished today. We may be looking at a complete rainout for the day ala TCU on Friday and Hattiesburg yesterday.
In theory, LSU isn't supposed to make the decisions about start times. That responsibility belongs to the NCAA.

I wouldn't much care if both games got rained out today... Just don't want to start our game, and then have it halted.

You misspelled ESPN.
Radar looks bad. Big band of rain from Beaumont to near Lafayette drifting slowly eastward.
