Smoke Laval was fired today from North Florida. Strange happenings over at UNF, considering in his last three seasons his teams went 45-16, 39-19, and 33-24. He also won the A-Sun title in 2015.

Any chance ULM can get him to be head coach again???

There's people that want him and his daughter lives in Monroe still. Smoke's stretch at ULM was pretty big. We beat LSU and made a regional 3 times I think.

Don't think the record was why he was fired.

In this case, where there is "Smoke", there is fire(d). Something not right there.

Beating LSU should not be a measuring stick of a long tenure. It's one game out of hundreds. 3 regionals, yes.

I hope they do better than this guy. I'm thinking that considering all the factors, they will have to go big and take a chance on a young unknown guy.

Btw, saw this interesting pic of Smoke on RP. During his tenure at ulm, judging by the shirt.
