Rain could interfere with this week's schedule, as we're expected to see fairly steady rain starting tonight and thru Thursday. As it stands, this is what the schedule looks like. All games are in Wilmington.

Wednesday, May 24

G1: # 4 Delaware 9, # 5 Charleston 0 (Final)

Thursday, May 25

G2: # 3 W&M 5, # 6 Elon 2 (Final)

G3: # 5 Charleston 1, Elon 0 (Final, Elon eliminated)

G4: # 4 Delaware 5, # 1 Northeastern 3 (Final)

G5: # 2 UNCW 6, # 3 W&M 2 (Final)

Friday, May 26

G6: # 5 Charleston 7, W&M 6 (Final, 11 innings, W&M eliminated)

G7: # 4 Delaware 14, # 2 UNCW 8 (Final)

G8: # 1 Northeastern 8, # 5 Charleston 5 (Final, Charleston eliminated)

Saturday, May 27

G9: # 1 Northeastern vs. # 2 UNCW -- 1 PM (elimination game)

G10: # 4 Delaware vs. G9 Winner -- 4:30 PM

Sunday, May 28

G11: # 4 Delaware vs. G9 Winner (if Delaware loses in G10). -- Noon
Note that, if we lose Thursday, the only way we'd be playing in the Thursday night elimination game (G6) would be if Northeastern lost also. Otherwise, both us and Northeastern are guaranteed to remain alive into Friday.

Of course, if we can't beat W&M or Elon with Royalty on the hill, on our own field, we probably don't deserve to win the CAA title.

The more optimistic view, which I choose to take, is that we're 2 wins away from the title game. Royalty and Sharpe can definitely get us there.
I agree. Royalty & Sharpe can get us past the first two - after that it will/could be a crap shoot. Ideally it would be nice to get the first two with very little or (preferably) no help from relievers. Then it would be all hands on deck!

or Bust it wide open early and allow those guys to exit early and be available later in the weekend.
Or have the other teams forfeit, and we can rest the whole team for the NCAAs.

I nodded my head to this one.

I said "I like that even better" to this one.

I said "f*ck yeah!" to this one.
The weather may be a problem for pitchers Wednesday and Thursday if the games have long rain delays

If I'm reading everything correctly (mind you I've only had one coffee this morning), we're mostly concerned with the result of the 4:30 game correct?
As a William and Mary fan, you should be very concerned with the 4:30 game

Charleston is indeed saving Ober. Lefty Evan Sisk on the mound for the Cougars against Delaware.
Delaware is up 5-0 on Charleston in the 5th. The Cougars already head to the pen.

Not sure I can second guess the decision to save Ober, however. They needed to win at least 4 games to take the title, and he can't pitch all of them. It doesn't help they're not providing run support on offense thus far either.
Through 7 offensive innings, Charleston only has 1 hit and a total of 2 baserunners.

Still 5-0 Delaware in the 7th.
Charleston down to their last 3 outs in this one, now trailing 9-0.

Delaware has 12 hits compared to just 1 for Charleston.
There's rain coming in. The league will be making a call by 4 pm on whether to start the W&M/Elon game as scheduled or to delay it.

For our purposes, a delay would be fine.
9-0 final.

Charleston will face the loser of the Tribe/Phoenix game in an elimination contest. Day/Time of that game currently TBD due to weather.
