One more example. Real problem as they are a southern anchor of NATO and had been one stable place in the vicinity of the Middle East.

Two people were arrested and 11 were injured in protests outside the Turkish ambassador's residence amid President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit.
Video footage of the clash on Tuesday showed men in suits charging past police to kick and punch protesters.
Police called the violence a "brutal attack on peaceful protesters".
But the Turkish Embassy said the demonstrators were aggressively provoking Turkish-Americans who had gathered to greet the president, and they in turn responded in self-defence.
The US State Department released a statement saying it was "concerned by the violent incidents" and confirmed Turkish security guards were involved.
"Violence is never an appropriate response to free speech, and we support the rights of people everywhere to free expression and peaceful protest," the statement read.
Autocracy is becoming very much en vogue again. Which sucks bigly.
Talk about a goon squad. Don't F with Turkey.

Now we have another issue with Turkey.
Erdogan is paranoid. Basically he is a Turkish Putin. Not a reliable ally.
Apparently, this isn't the first time his 'security goons" have beaten people up while he was visiting THIS country.

Here's how to fix it and send a message. On any future visits to the U.S., those Turkish security personnel who can be identified via the videos of the fracas will not be allowed entrance to the U.S. Erdogan will have to bring a new set of goons. During the visit, have U.S, security personnel ready to bust some heads if the Turks once again decide to be goons. Open a can of whoop azz on them and then explain afterwards that we take our first amendment rights seriously here and that they need to realize that they are not in Turkey.

It didn't happen in the US.

And this sort of behavior happened before the coup. Its why there was a coup.
Trump wants to put journalists in prison. That is what a third world dictator or Putin does. So, Trump wants to be buddies with murderous dictators of the world. That includes Turkey's. If I were the leader of this country? I would lobby NATO to boot Turkey out, and pressure the EU to boot them out as well. Until Turkey cleans up their leadership? They are not welcome partners.
Germany tells Erdogan to f off. SMDH at the hypocrisy of Erdogan accusing anyone of being "Nazi like".

Germany blocks Erdogan rally during G20 summit in Hamburg

Quote:Germany says it would be inappropriate for Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to address Turks in Germany during the G20 summit next week.

Mr Erdogan castigated Germany for the ban, accusing the government of "Nazi-style" behaviour.
