They don't need a thread for every game they book. Did we have one of those for Georgia Southern? No. Did we have one for App State? No. If the evangelicals want to slobber over Liberty they can keep it contained to a single thread.

Dude it's more about scheduling as an independent now days. A few years ago there were almost no independent schools left now Liberty is showing you can make it as an Indy. The real story is when a school like Notre Dame or BYU make the playoff as an independent

So were posting every Army or UMass game scheduled too?

Army no, because long time Indy Army has no issues scheduling.
UMASS, yes, there is a thread on UMASS with scheduling updates. A UMASS fan named Steve started it I believe. Nice guy.

But not each game as a separate thread.

Combine all these Liberty threads into one.

I think most people are completely ambivalent about Liberty.

I've never heard of them outside of this board (and I work in academia).

They have the desire, they have the students, and they have the money to compete with the best. People like to see a Cinderella story and Liberty is just that.

I mean really, a team that every conference has shunned is battling against the odds and making their own way. I'm actually starting to become a Liberty fan myself to be honest.

So no other team has desire or students? Great, go root for the fighting farwells. They aren't going to be the next Notre Dame. Oh and their is a reason no one wanted Liberty. They are extremely shady and extremely anti-intellectual. They are a right wing lobbiest factory.

So true. Liberty is a lightning bolt, not a vanilla, indescribable entity. Which equates to LU being one of the most disliked teams. Which equals a strong desire by opposing fans "not to lose to those ...............(fill in the blank)". People get involved either because they strongly like something or strongly dislike something. If LU is getting this much ink just on their scheduling, what's it going to be like when they play games?

RG, then you should really be amped up on 10/26/2019 when LU plays at Rutgers. Truth is, don't you want to see Rutgers crush LU because of your dislike for LU? That's why LU will gradually become one of the most disliked, cannot lose-to schools. Sounds like a good position to me for LU, and opposing teams? Especially as LU improves and becomes more than a transitional FBS team.

Wrong...Liberty is different and polarizing. Look at the comments here and in the other threads.

So is Cal-Berkeley and you don't see people flipping out when they schedule home-and-homes. You don't see people making a big deal about ORU's scheduling or affiliation, given its namesake, history, and mission. These threads have just become an excuse for two sides of the political aisle to snipe at one another. You don't like Liberty and what they stand for? Cool, boo them off the field and cheer for whoever's playing them. It's not that hard.

Huh? Did I slam Liberty? I agree the vitriol is purely based on politics.

Yeah, I guess that was more directed towards everyone than you. I'm just wondering where all of this moral grandstanding came from all of the sudden, apart from LU being something new and the culture currently being really politically charged and outrage-centered. It gets tiresome.
Some ODU fans have strong feelings one way or the other but plenty just see the game as easily drivable and a great payday. Beyond all the political/religious hoopla, they're a up jumped Big South program. They going to have to put up or shut up or none of the rest matters to the sports world.

If you get a chance to go to a Troy football game do it. Great atmosphere, salt of the earth folks, good football, nice stadium. Just a fun day. If Liberty can produce that kind of atmosphere the sunbelt will be begging them.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic, but I like Troy's stadium. However, I would not recommend traveling to Troy, AL unless you are either a really supportive fan or within driving distance.

There is not much of anything to do in that city.

I think we have already. It didn't help much with the closeminded folks in the Sun Belt.
