I'm not sure what benefit Merkel sees to allowing all this unchecked immigration in? When someone finds that answer though I bet it will be one hell of a scandal. Somehow somebody is making serious bank on all this.

The theory I lend the most credibility to is that the purpose of wanting all these immigrants to be allowed in is that they can become citizens in a few years. Since the majority of these immigrants are on social welfare programs, once they are naturalized they have voting rights, they will vote for continued social support.

It's effectively creating a mass voting block that will vote for their continued benefits, which will be large enough in numbers to eliminate the possibility of the existing ruling class losing their positions of power.

I dont think it's as much about money as it is about power and control.

Yeah, but the CDU, while socialist by US standards, is normally to the right of the Social Democrats on the issue. This theory would help the SDP more than CDU/CSU, especially once the Bavarians say "f*** this s***! and leave the partnership.

Plus Muslims don't strike me as the kind to vote for any party with the word "Christian" in the name, despite having very little to do with Christianity these days.

All of this seems to be hurting CDU, not helping.

I could see Saudi Arabia funneling a few million to Obama and Merkel for taking in syrians so that they wouldnt have to.
