You can't be serious, unless you're trying to pretend that the S-A is as significant to American history as WWII and the Civil War. That would be you trolling.

Bull made a troll comment, that threw the thread off the subject of a racist incident occurring at a college. I suggest we return to the OP topic, and leave the silliness behind.

So clearly, nothing negative can be said about someone who remembers more important facts and doesn't recall less important facts.

No student of history would call the Spanish American War and the sinking of the USS Maine "less important facts."

I ask this out of genuine curiosity: would it not have been easier to admit that the Spanish American War and the sinking of the USS Maine was an important aspect of this country's history of which you had little awareness? And then after a bit of private reading on the matter, admitting that you felt that you had a better handle on why the Spanish American War and the sinking of the USS Maine where both important American history and foreign policy markers?

I feel like you would have got a number of kudos for that, instead of your current doubling down on ignorance and receiving rightful mockery from other posters.

On the other hand, he's managed to distract from the fact he justified fake race attacks to bring up the issue of race.

Meh

Pro-tip: Don't do your "quiz" at the local hooka bar.

I guess we can further assume these same 9,999 people aren't sure if Teddy Roosevelt is a real thing too, is that about right?

Doubtful. Teddy Roosevelt is the opposite of an obscure figure in American history.

The Spanish-American War is an obscure detail.

Let's see how long it takes xer to realize that Teddy Roosevelt and the rough riders were a key part of the Spanish American war.

Absurdly false - as I just proved.

Clearly just trolling.

Yep. Very few are that dense but still able to type. I'm done feeding this one.

My Gosh, you unknowingly (I'm guessing, even hoping) just tripled down on the stupid. How do you think Teddy Roosevelt rose to public prominence?

It sure as heck wasn't cause he was an Asst. Secretary of the Navy...

Good grief.
Trying to figure out how a war that:

A. Sparked the United STates being a world power
B. Ended Spain's colonial reign in the western hemisphere
C. Served as a launching point for the political career of one of our greatest Presidents, Theodore Roosevelt.
D. Served as the launching point of the careers of some of the most influential military officers in the first half of the 20th century, most notably John Pershing.
and
E. Led to Major Water Reed to discover that yellow fever was an insect borne pathogen and that eliminating mosquito breeding grounds helped prevent the disease.

could be the minor blip in history that some......rather one person on here is trying to make it out to be.

Teddy Roosevelt is the opposite of obscure because he was a POTUS, not because he had a role in an obscure military entanglement with Spain.

Should be easy: you're vastly overstating the importance of the military entanglement itself, and pretending that it was the sole reason for great things that would've happened anyway.

Good grief ... I'm starting to think that you guys think the minor military entanglement with Spain actually was a significant event in American history! As if that obscure detail was the singular defining moment of American greatness.

Talk about GroupTroll.

What a joke. Just group trolling, for your own entertainment, at this point.

LOL

What an utter and absolute fool you are.
You're right Kaplony, the SAW was exactly the same importance as WWII, and 99.9% of people in the country would be able to give you details about it off the top of their heads. 07-coffee3

Maybe I'm acting a "fool", but then you're just acting like a know-it-all (but had to look it up on Wikipedia) internet message board troll.
LOL

Nah, when I was in school they actually educated people instead of obviously indoctrinating them in leftist dogma like what you constantly spout. Perhaps if the supposed educators actually went back to educating instead of the crap they are trying to pass off as education today we wouldn't have to deal with complete imbeciles on the message board with an over-inflated sense of their knowledge. Instead of all these pages of you coming off looking like a complete and total moron defending an indefensible position you could instead be defending your original indefensible position that false flag incidents like the one in the OP of this thread are a good thing.
I guess I'm a complete dumb*** too. Other than knowing it was a thing I dont know Jack squat about the S-A war.

At least I can aknowledge my faults.

Oh boo hoo -- that's what you're crying like a school girl about? Your precious message board?

There is an ignore feature, use it.

It was basically our introduction on the world stage as a major power.

The leftists should be all over it because it is what led to our Imperialist Colonialist oppressive patriarchy over all of Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the western Pacific and Asia.

I'm shocked that they don't see it as the most important war of all in us ruining the planet.

Maybe next year.

You say so ... yet like 5% of Americans tops could tell you it was a real war off the top of their heads, while 99.9% can confirm WWI was real.

which means absolutely nothing relative to the point of fact....

you're only arguing what idiots don't know in relative terms (which is ******* tard in itself).....

we already knew both items.....always know your thought processing is invalid in the real world sonny......you will lose

One more reason to conclude that America's education system is failing. People don't know what America is about. Sad.

He's going to take a poll to determine what is historically important. A poll of people who mostly don't know any history beyond what Facebook shows them was on their timeline 4 years ago.
