Good stuff.
Always good to give more than just the link, especially when the article is so pro Memphis:

"In two years of AAC title games, Temple has made it twice, and Houston and Navy have each made it once. In 2017, we could have two more first-timers facing off.
Here’s a link to every team’s data, and each team’s name below is linked to its preview.

Tier 1 1. Memphis 2. USF 3. Houston

All three of these programs have changed coaches in the last 18 months, but maybe the second-year effect gives Mike Norvell’s Memphis the edge over Charlie Strong’s USF and Major Applewhite’s Houston.

This does feel like Memphis’ time to me. The Tigers were a little bit unstable last year, but their combination of experience and upside might be the best in the conference. The secondary has question marks, but I think I like the answers, and the offense could be dynamite.
"
Was all on board until no Riley Ferguson and Genard Avery. Avery will likely finish top 5 all time AAC Tackles for Loss and sacks.
This is the year to win the conference championship. The offense was stellar last year and should be again this year barring Ferguson or Miller having diasappointing seasons or getting hurt.

Defense was atrocious last year against teams with a winning record. This year should be addition by subtraction. Of course, the new guys on D will be inexperienced and we don't know if they'll be any good. But if the D gives them anything at all this year, the Tigers could be very dangerous. Looking forward to a fun season.
Line play on both sides of the ball will make or break the season.

Agreed. Our O-Line will be much better than last season. At worst, our D-Line will be as good as last year's. I'm more worried about the uncertainty in our secondary.

Sorry, did not understand your post. What do you mean no Riley Ferguson?

O-line is probably the most improved position on the team. Gill and Eze will man the LT position, which has allowed Tate to move back where he belongs at RT.

Agreed. Personally, I hope we can afford to RS Eze. He could use a year in the weight room and an additional year of getting acclimated to FB. He is a freak athlete with only a few years of PT. He is going to be a helluva player.

Did Eze play in the spring game? I don't know if he graduated early or not. If the oline is improve then we will be very good. We were good with Ferguson running for his life last year.

It's not like the secondary was any good last year, or any part of the defense for that matter. Gave up 40-plus points in six of seven games vs teams with a winning record. That can't happen again in order to win the conference.

Addition by subtraction on D.
I love "addition by subtraction". Even though it has never worked out for us, people still say it like THIS TIME it will be different. Nope. Addition by subtraction does not work.

1) this is a football thread.

2) see Sean Banks for any proof you need when it comes to 'addition by subtraction'
Defensive recruits the last few years have been higher ranked and we have been able to redshirt some strong kids. If they play well, because it seems a near given the offense will, real chance here.

Agree. Guy a couple of posts above doesn't seem to think "addition by subtraction" is a real thing. Guess he doesn't agree that sometimes new players are better than the old ones. On defense, like you pointed out, Norvell has recruited really well.If the defense can give them anything (against teams with a winning record), then we do indeed have a chance to make serious noise.
