Anyone else heard anything about this?

Could be a happy ending for all concerned (except, of course, UNC-W)
Probably the best for all parties. ODU can move on, Barefoot gets to leave of her own volition (for the most part), nobody is stained by the optics of a firing, and a struggling mid-major program gets an upgrade at HC.
much needed for thisstruggling program. wish her luck, but most importantly I hope the Lady Monarchs can get a winner.
The Wilmington paper's story, which relies on the Swish Appeal report

Given that UNCW's last coach went 42-112 in five seasons, there'll be a lot less pressure to produce there than at ODU. Say what you will about Barefoot at ODU, but she should easily better those numbers down there.
Interesting - if true a nice out for all involved. 04-cheers
That said - - - it leaves ODU hunting/picking a new coach...
Kind of reminded of the old Chinese proverb about being careful what you wish for.
This is awfully late in the game to be looking for a new coach. It is unfortunate for recruits and players, as well, who might be inclined to want to go elsewhere. I had wondered if the two Freshman transfers weren't the results of them "seeing the handwriting on the wall". Both seemed to be in line for INCREASED playing time next year.

Writing is on the wall once her contract was not extended.
If all of this holds true, it will be very interesting to see who Selig brings in as her replacement. Should give us an idea of what he views as being good enough these days for this once proud team that is but a shell of their former selves.

I realize that times have changed from the 70's and 80's in the world of women's college basketball, but there is no reason that ODU should have fallen as much as they have over the last 10 - 20 years. With the right coach and enough dedication put into righting the ship, I believe that much of what has been lost can be fixed.

I was one who thought KB was going to be a good hire. When she was on Wendy's staff that was our last trip to the Sweet 16. She had some solid talent on her teams and just couldn't get to the level Lady Monarch fans expect.
So, assuming this turns out to be true, who do you guys think we look to hire?

I know Wood would like to get Michelle Clark-Heard from WKU, but that's a tall order.

If true, I hope they go after someone who played under Wendy. Or an up-and-coming assistant assistant on a nationally recognized program like Notra Dame, Duke, Oklahoma or UConn. It's really a shame how far the women's program has fallen in the past dozen or so years.
Probably another one of Wood's back pocket hires that leads us straight to sh**.

I cant get excited about ODU hiring new coaches under this cornball.

That might explain her absence at the "Coaches Caravan" in Chesapeake last week. I like her, she's a positive thinking, motivated individual. With her personality you thought she would have succeeded well here, but something was missing. Anywho, best of luck to her at UNCW.

Great motivator, work ethic, and enthusiasm. Very personable.
Good recruiter. We had the players to make the NCAA the past two years.
Not so good with Xs and Os.
