Three days after its annual spring game, Friday Night Stripes, the Memphis football team met in the little-used turf room at the Billy J. Murphy Athletic Complex for its final practice of spring ball.

With thunderstorms in the area, and construction of the long-awaited indoor practice facility still yet to begin, the Tigers accomplished what they could Monday afternoon, breaking into offensive and defensive groups with some special teams work, too.

The original turf room at the South Campus was already 5 years old when I got there and I'm 59. Do the math. It was one of only a handful of indoor practice facilities in the country including the SEC, SWC and ACC which had none. Should have been completely redone after the fire but we all know who and what was driving the improved facilities bus during that time. SMH

He not happy about the IPF or not happy here in general? The IPF will get done but I am willing to bet the groundbreaking will be late summer/early Fall

Understand about the money (directed donations, etc.); but the discussion and initial fund raising for the IPF began well before any talk about an new BB facility ... We HAVE to have a new IPF to continue our recruiting gains; not just talk about a new one ..
