Chance of rain looks pretty low for tonight's scheduled 6:30 resumption of the Silver Glove series against UH at Reckling. So we'll go ahead and start the game thread.
While a disappointing season so far by all measures, one of what have to be two of the biggest goals for this team right now is on the line tonight with the Silver Glove Series against crosstown rival Houston. (with the other more critical goal being to move up to a top 8 CUSA seed) We dominated UH 9-0 in the first meeting, and have an opportunity to clinch the series tonight.
And while we watch storms move through town midday today, for your musical amusement, here's our Rice Owls take on 70's classic "Hot Line" by, of course, the SYLVERS.

My inside sources are telling me that the athletic department is frantically printing off copies of the new logo and crazy gluing them to our uniforms and hats. Let's hope it doesn't rain or we could have a real problem on our hands.

That owl looks like the ugly cougar head logo. Both schools should stick with their respective letters/abbreviations - 'R' and 'UH'

The entire storm system seems to be running later than originally forecast. Austin was supposed to receive the heaviest storms last night; instead they came through mid-day today. I wouldn't be surprised if the bad weather in Houston lasts through the evening.

Weather.com predicts that this rain won't stop in the Rice vicinity until about 8 p.m.
