People just need to get to know this guy.

One thing I have really realized about Lane since he has done the media circuit is that he just answers questions so honestly and doesn't use coach speak. I think that's great but that tends to get him in trouble (idk why) with people.

The Coeds in Boca already know him

Well, personally I hope Lane and Butch win big except when they play USM. This conference needs the excitement and coverage them winning would bring. Now how long would they stay if they win big? Not long is my guess, but as Monken proved at USM, they will leave the programs in far better shape than they found them.

My guess is neither win toooooo big and both gone within 2 years. Even if they go 5-7 some middle of the pack P5 school will take another chance on them. Hell look at Bobby Patrino, bad example but you get the picture.

Not one person on this board can say they would do different. If you were single, had the bank account he does, HC at a D1 school and living in South Florida, you'd be hanging with the tightest bodies you could.
I don't think Lane will be out the door as fast as most think.
1. I don't think he wants to coach in college towns just look how fast he left UT. Lane for obvious reasons wants to be in towns Like Boca or LA Etc.
2. I still think major programs are very hesitant with Lane and won't be jumping on him if he comes here and has lets say a 8 and 9 win season. He is going to have to prove a lot more then just a couple winning seasons at FAU in order to get a better job in a city that fits him.

Yea people are just haters. If my life allows me to I would hook up with college girls until I was dead. Lane might have found a new fling in Boca though more his age, but still she is a smoke show.

I just don't think Lane is the type of guy to take a job in a place like Indiana if he doesn't have to.

Also a school is not taken the Lane baggage if he is only a 5-7 win coach here.

I hope they both succeed too. We need this conference to be competitive top to bottom. They will both end up being good hires in my opinion.
Count me as a Lane fan...wanting him to do well. FAU and Lane need each other. I hope they both benefit from the mutual relationship for as long as possible. Big shot in the arm for CUSA.

That goes for FIU and Butch also. Other coaches will want to measure themselves against these two...hope it brings out the best coaching in all of CUSA's coaching staffs.

And yeah, if I was in my 40's, single, and with that bank...I'll be hitting up as many coeds and other available women as time would allow, even if it was just for conversation and dinner most of the time.

Wait, I am in my 40's, but not single, and I do not have nearly that kind of bank (not even close).

He didn't even have the opportunity to coach at Indiana, which is why he has to coach somewhere like FAU.

He'd crawl from Boca to Bloomington tomorrow if it got him out of the G5 and <$1M salary.

Tom Allen, hired by the Hoosiers just a week or so before Kiffin was hired by FAU, is making roughly triple what Lane is making.

Such a blind hater.
If money was important he could have been making close to two million living in Baton Rouge.

Also a place like FAU is better then a place like MSTU.
What many do not know is that Stockstill inquired about FAU job after Carl was fired.
We do not want a coach ceiling is 7 wins and bad D for the next 10 years.

He took less money to be a head coach, not because money "isn't important".

If you think he wouldn't have taken $2.5M to be the head coach at Indiana over <$1M at FAU, you're more gullible than you must think I am if you think I'm going to believe Stock inquired about a job at a lesser program, for less money, when his son was currently grayshirting at Middle.

Believe what you want but this is 100 percent a fact.
Also a greyshirt doesn't mean anything.

The idea we are a lesser program because of a half decade of you winning is crazy.
Ask anyone in college football where you would rather coach 99 percent are coming to South Florida MTSU knows where they have to recruit some of their players and it in our backyard.

MTSU is 100% a better job than FAU for every sport not named baseball.

Money being even remotely close to equal, the choice is easy, I'm not stupid, but you're talking about a coach choosing between the two jobs, not a coach leaving one for the other for less money.

Stock was in his eighth season in Murfreesboro with his son recently enrolled after saying it was his dream to play for his father. No, Stockstill was never leaving Murfreesboro for Boca, that is 100% fact.

I still get goosebumps thinking about that time FAU beat us 10 years ago.
