Maybe this is already done. There are a lot of threads.

Starters:

Shaq Morris - 6'8", 270 (RS) Sr C/PF. Can dominate inside on both ends of the court. Can also foul out in 15 minutes. Has had conditioning and work ethic issues (he was 290 when he got to campus), but seems to have figured those issues out.

Markis McDuffie - 6'8", 215 Jr PF/SF. Top-100 HS player out of New Jersey. Leading scorer and rebounder. Too light to bang inside and needs work on handles. Gets a lot of points on putbacks. Good 3-pt. shooter. With improved ball-handling and more weight, could go league as a SF/SG combo. Quick enough to defend positions from PG to PF. Third in voting for MVC PoY.

Zach Brown - 6'6", 215 Sr. SF Lockdown defender. Will guard opponents best offensive threat at any position for PG to PF. Takes a lot of wide open shots. There's a reason he's wide open and a reason he's known as a defensive specialist.

Conner Frankamp - 6'1", 170 Sr SG/PG. Top 50 HS player out of Wichita. Surprisingly effective defender for his size. After moving from mainly PG to mainly SG was a deadly shooter from 3. Transfer from Kansas.

Landry Shamet - 6'4", 190 RS So PG Top-100 recruit from Kansas City area. Got a lot of NBA attention when he went for 20 against Kentucky and many considered he was outplaying UK's (possible) lottery pick guards. NBA scouting services predict he will go league after 2018 or 2019. Top 15 nationally in A/TO ratio as a Fr. Can drive or shoot 3's. Solid defender. I don't know his vertical, but I've seen the top of his head above the rim. Second in voting for MVC PoY.

Bench (all but Keyser got significant minutes last year):

Rashard Kelly - 6'7", 225 Sr. PF Strong on D and boards. Range to the 3-pt. line. Historically struggles at the rim, but looked better late in the season. Bit of a junkyard bulldog mentality.

Rauno Nurger - 6'10", 240 Sr C. Has some smooth back-to-the basket moves and a nice baby hook. Decent defender. Decent shot blocker.

Austin Reaves - 6'5", 180 PG/SG. Had surgery on left shoulder coming out of HS. Didn't practice all summer. Missed contact drills through half of the pre-season practices. Dislocated the OTHER shoulder 3 times and had recent surgery to fix that. Needs upper body strength and more weight, but will miss another summer of weight work. BEFORE the third dislocation - Was effective at PG, was leading the league in 3-pt%, was incredibly aggressive and fearless - will drive to the hoop against about anybody. Averaged over 30 ppg in HS. Incredible basketball IQ. Both parents played D2 ball.

Darral Willis - 6'9", 220 Sr (JuCo) C/PF. Will put up incredible stats per minute when he's in the game. So will the guy he's supposed to be guarding. JuCo post players seem to have much better Sr than Jr years, so we're hoping he can figure out how to play some D.

Daishon Smith - 6'1", 175 Sr. (JuCo) PG - Quickest guy on the team. Nice touich from 3. We're hoping he "figures it out" over the summer. Seemed to lose confidence as the season progressed.

C.J. Keyser - 6'3", 195 So SG/SF Missed most of last summer's conditioning and workouts with an injury and ended up as the 12th guy in a 10-man rotation. Freakish athlete who can kiss the rim. Coaches expect he will be an outstanding player.

Coming in:

Asborn Mitgaard - 6'11", 260 C From Denmark. Currently playing (as an amateur) in a Euro pro league against a lot of mid-level D1 players who have graduated. He will be 20 as a true Fr. From stats we can find, he does "OK" against that level of competition. He's around a 9 and 5 guy in maybe 20 minutes. Foot work and foot speed have been questions.

Samajae Haynes-Jones - 5'11, 170 SG/PG (JuCo) Jr JuCo AA. Second-leading scorer on the JuCo national champion. Another local player (from Wichita).
Pretty solid. I would add that Nurger has legit 3 range and will take and make a few. I'd also add that our walk-ons aren't terrible either. Brett Barney was a local standout.

Also notable: Brown, Keyser, and Nurger all spent time at Sunrise Christian Academy (of Buddy Hield fame) here in Wichita.
So you'll be replacing 7 players after next season? I hope it goes smoothly.

We replaced 5 from last year (3 were starters), 2 of which are now NBA guards. This year went ok. 03-wink

Not ideal, but so far Marshall has been a masterful recruiter. Finding guys that buy in and fly under the radar.
I think we also replaced 5 from the 2011-2012 team and the following year went to the Final 4.

He is great at plugging holes with transfers or JUCO

So do we. Marshall has done fine in similar situations, but 7 is a big number. I'd expect 1 or 2 JuCo posts to come in. Even with that, there's a need for 1 or 2 Fr post types who are at least nearly ready to go.

Marshall has been pretty good at recruiting right around the 3* and 4* borderline. From what we saw when Creighton moved the big east, their recruiting jumped nicely to a higher level.

Shocker fans have learned to trust Marshall in this regard. For the last 6 years, we've been told how we were about to enter the abyss because of all the players we lost.
