The dilemma we are in today goes back to Calipari.

This is Calipari's fault.

We could have built a program like Gonzaga. We could have been clean and not catered to players (and their fathers).

Under Calipari:
We hired Dajuan Wagner's dad. We were in shady with AAU coaches and player handlers. We built a winning program the wrong way (like Louisville). That culture persists, even after we were stripped of being National Runner.

Some on here still want to shake hands with Cowboy and go all out for winning.

This "winning at all costs" mentality has to go. We can't placate prima donnas and their families.

Maybe the reason we have such a high transfer rate under two coaches (Pastner and Tubby, who couldn't be more different in style) is because of the overarching culture of our program? 03-idea
Been waiting on this one all day

You people never disappoint
SMH.

This more on Tubby/Pastner than it is Cal.
We should be happy with mediocrity.
My hypocrisy knows no bounds.
I'd beat someone's ass bloody to be Louisville.
yea how about you thank him for entertaining your broke ass during the 2000s. You ******* loser.

The biggest problem with Calipari is that he skewed our expectations (mine included). We all think we should be on par with Kentucky, North Carolina, and Duke. While we've had a solid history, it's nowhere near what those schools...

yeah, we have crazy expectations now - like post season play and not getting blown out by teams with less talent.

none of us think that.. we think we COULD be with the right coach, but what we expect is, with the resources we have, is not to be garbage. Bad decision after bad decision has killed this program.

Sheeeeet....I just want to be like VCU, Dayton, Wichita, etc. at this point.

Add a Memphis recruit here or there that is higher ranked than those school can land and maybe make a run every so often.

That's not Cal's fault. This fan base needs to start being more realistic, on a number of levels.
Pastner cultivated a bunch a pansies in this fan base.

Whether anyone wants to admit or not, Tubby inherited a **** show. Local kids don't want to play here anymore. We've signed some good classes, but everyone transferred. We've done nothing in the NCAA since Cal left.

Pastner had to hire Keelon to get his kids. Memphis isn't relevant now.

I like the purge. These guys quit on us last year. Keelon was going to extort the university every year (or at least until he ran out of kids to pimp).

I think today we turned the corner. Almost a complete rebuild. I think we needed it. Let's sign some servicable players and hopefully a couple will be really good. Hit 2018 hard and land a few of the local stars. It's a great day to be s Tiger!

Yes. This is a good day. I expected to see the "Fire Tubby" crap because of the Lawsons leaving, but c'mon. Bulloney. Dumping Tubby and starting a new coaching search would be a good thing? Lord-a-mighty.

The fan base does not think they are on par with KY, the assumption was false.

No one (really) thinks we Kentucky. It's not true now. It wasn't true when Calipari was here. We were considered one of the best jobs in basketball as little as 5 years ago. The thing is, Kentucky struggled under Gillespie. Alabama struggled before Saban. You can't just plug anybody into even the Blue Blood programs and succeed. And you have to make the right hire to succeed at second tier programs like ours. And we've failed to do that the past two times. We should have hired Drew in 2009. And we should have hired someone like Forbes if we were unwilling to do what it took to hire hire Buzz Williams last year.

Hiring Tubby Smith and paying him 3mm a year has to be the worst die idiom an AD has made in the past decade.
