And of course led the MAC in average attendance.

We've heard a little about next year's men's schedule. Anyone heard anything about the women's schedule?

Here's a link to the story about the attendance.

Toledo has led the MAC in attendance for an unprecedented 27 consecutive years!!
Toledo should bid for an NCAA regional. None of the other sites draw
How well did we do in 2014 compared to other sites?
I think Toledo would be a great location for a women's "first 4" like they have for the men in Dayton.

Do you really think people would show up for a game between Bethune-Cookman and Texas San Antonio?

YO!!! over here... I would
The women don't have a first 4, do they? I think only 64 teams make the women's field.

In 2014 the first round was Notre Dame vs Robert Morris and Arizona State vs. Vanderbilt----I couldn't find the attendance for those games but for the second round of Notre Dame vs. Arizona State the ASU site gave the attendance as 3544. The wife and I attended all of the games and there was good crowd at all of the games. Notre Dame brought a lot of fans (the were easy to spot because they all were wearing green tee shirts made for the tourney) and there were a lot of Toledo fans in attendance as well. Too bad the Lady Rockets could not play their way into the NCAA Tourney that year or when BGSU was a host site for the first two rounds in 2012. The 2014 games at Savage had a great atmosphere and I personally suspect that was a factor in ND Coach McGraw agreeing to a home and home with Toledo.

Correct. I was hypothesizing that we would be a good site if they were to ever add that, just as Dayton is the "permanent" site on the men's side.

There is some truth to this. A significant portion of our Lady Rockets fan base are Rocket fans because of Coach Cullop and they show no interest in anything else but her career. In other words, if Cullop ever left here I'd bet our attendance would significantly drop even if our record continued to be solid.

Well, fans of Rocket basketball. Cullop is beyond great but she hasn't been here 27 years. On the other hand, where would you hold a "first four" that would draw people to see B-C vs Texas SA? And, BTW, for those curious about what auto-correct does with "Cullop", well, it comes out "cellophane".
There is no doubt that Coach Cullop does an excellent job of reaching out to the fans and the community; however, the Lady Rocket were no stranger to leading the MAC in attendance or being in the national top 30 in attendance rankings for WBB well before Coach Cullop's arrival. Attendance was very strong during the Fennelly years and the early Ehlen years and often ranked in the top 30. However, attendance slumped as the program disappointingly spiraled downward during the final years of the Ehlen era and Cullop does deserves the credit for reviving the program and the fan interest....but it was a "restoration" more so than it was a "new creation".

And, attendance has been going down the last three or four years. Hopefully the NCAA appearance will get the numbers back up over 4,000.
The NIT runs fueled some good attendance for a few years. I think that leveled off.
