That one stands out for me as well as the 3rd & 8ish completed to Tolley (I think) earlier that drive to keep it going.
Moment(s): Scott McGee's kickoff return to open the second half and start the comeback against App State in 2008; McGee's punt return in 2008 to beat the Ticks

Games: a) JMU over NDSU and (a1) 2016 National Championship
b) 2013 JMU baseketball CAA Championship win in Richmond - that place was electric!
greatest moments are probably either the Scotty return in '08 against RU or the Hail Mary against Nova that year. unbelievable endings.
I feel like this is a duplicate of a thread I made previously but Phil's such a legend I can't stay mad:

Moment:

Probably Ray Hines as well. So intense.

Game:

It might not be the greatest but the most fun game I had as a fan was the SHSU game. Perfect storm of domination plus their loudmouth terrible racist fanbase, it was so rewarding watching us dominate. I wish we could have played another game right after.

Getting ready to start of thread on where to stay for the 2016 NC. 04-cheers
There have been many JMU moments of exhilaration. Some I was in person, a few I had to watch on TV, it is very difficult to put one above all others. However, not mentioned yet was the 1983 ECAC South championship game in Richmond against W&M giving us the auto-birth in the NCAAT. Who says you have to have a lot of scoring to be exciting, final score 41 - 38. This was the first time I ever rushed the floor for a JMU event. I think the fact that Linton Townes had graduated the previous year and we only won 17 games during the season, with a victory that night JMU legitimized itself as a strong MBB program. Who would believe we could fall so far.
Speaking of W & M, that catch in the end zone by D.D. Boxley to beat them @ their place during the 1st NC run wasn't too bad either.

YES. this one was SO, SO, SO satisfying. I have never seen a fanbase run their mouths so much and be so completely unable to back it up. There was a SHSU fan in our section, and he was being relatively cool, but he looked like he was going to be sick after it started getting out of hand (aka - when the game began). That was probably the most fun I've ever had in a game, also. Good call, DD.
Moment: Scotty at UR. Boscoe, the Furman play, the catch to beat SMU, the last fumble recovery at VT, the Miller catch at NDSU, the punt block vs. YSU, and Corso's entrance are all pretty great in my time. (I missed Culuko and the FH Title by a year)

Game: App. St. hands down.
This is going back a number of years and it does not even involve JMU winning. In what might have been the quarterfinals of the NCAA soccer tournament, JMU played UVA in Charlottesville and the atmosphere was off the charts insane. A huge contingency of JMU students made the pilgrimage over the mountain along with all of the other JMU fans. This was back during the period when UVA was almost always competing to be national champion. JMU put up a good fight but eventually lost. You had to be there but with all of those belligerent JMU students it was simply electric.

Frisco had a huge contingent of JMU fans this year but the number of current undergraduates attending was not overwhelming. Because Chattanooga was within driving distance lots of undergraduates made that trip. I still remember car after car pulling into the parking lot in Chattanooga full of JMU students who immediately opened the trunk and popped open the keg. For me in terms of sheer electricity, Chattanooga was the first JMU sporting event that rivaled that UVA soccer game. To set the record straight, I am at best a casual soccer fan.

I was at that soccer game too...so many pots and pans to bang on! was really fun, and a handle of bourbon...UVA was top dog, and we lost by 1 I think?

I think Frisco could capture some of the atmosphere Chatty had if they would play the game at night. I really don't see any difference for fans in getting to the game should it be on Friday night vs. Saturday at 11:00 am. Very, very few people arrived on Saturday morning. Something about playing for a championship at night just seems like the way it should be.
The Culuko shot, the Scotty punt return, and beating #1 App State and NDSU are mine.

There are some great Convo moments including the Midnight Madness win over UR and the atmosphere for the UNLV. Lefty versus Tarkanian was awesome, and the line to get in the Convo hours before the game was down to the tunnel under 81.

That reminds me of the second game ever played in the Convo against UVA. Packed, packed, packed..., but the game turned out to be a bit underwhelming.

I was there as well. I think the only otherJMU soccer game I've been to was JMU at Mason.

The UVA game was when Bruce Arena used to dominate similiar to Geno at Ucon.
Thursday March 12, 1981. We beat Georgetown and Sleepy Floyd 61-55 in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Hoyas had made the final 8 the year before. John Thompson had also just received a commitment of High School senior Patrick Ewing. Harrisonburg got all of the D.C. Stations then plus a lot of the new big east games were broadcast. It was big time.

The next year we beat Ohio State in round one and lost to UNC 52-50 in round 2. Those two games are my greatest JMU memory. Our pep band, cheerleaders and the crowd in Charlotte were the best. Go Zags.

If that's the game I'm thinking of, UVA brought out a very watered down version of their band to play the National Anthem and it sounded weak. About halfway through, one of the JMU students yelled out, "Everybody now!" From that point the JMU section's singing completely drowned out the band (while being respectful to the song). The entire UVA contingency had this look like, "Oh my God, they really are crazy."
Gotta give MBB some credit - the final in the Coliseum the year we went to the NCAAT was incredibly fun. We were up most of the game and had so many plays to get the almost entirely JMU crowd on their feet and screaming.
