Sunday High Noon (EDT) showdown in Boca vs those other Owls.

Y'all probably knew this was coming...

To the tune of "Kung Fu Fighting" by George Douglas...
(Usage note: pronounce "Fa'u" as Fah-oo)

Woah,oh,wah,oh...
Woah,oh,wah,oh...
Yeah everybody was Owl Fa'u Fighting!
Our baserunners were fast as lightning!
(Our won-loss record is a little bit frightening!)
But our throws were crisp with expert timing!

Yeah there were funky Boca Owls
From funky Boca Town
They were coming up to bat
And we were mowing them down!
An ancient Cooperstown art
All the teammates knew their part
From our jump to the slide
Giving another long ball a ride

Yeah everybody was Owl Fa'u Fighting!
Our baserunners were fast as lightning!
(Our won-loss record is a little bit frightening!)
But our throws were crisp with expert timing!

We got funky Dane Myers
And big Glenn Otto
Now here comes the OG (Hey-ahh)
Let's start this show
We traded lineups and they stood pat
We started swinging our bat
Maybe March was just a "blip"
We just might win this Boca trip!

Cause everybody was Owl Fa'u Fighting
Woah,oh,wah,oh....
Listening to JP
FAU CUSA video streaming not working.
Myers with a triple. Decaprio coming to the plate
Decaprio grounds out for the third out
Myers left on third.

Video's working for me. (FAU's slightly askew Tilt-o-vision on CUSA.tv) And, as with the previous two games, we can hear JP clearly in the background. :-)
FAU's announcer said our Owls' pitchers had held his to just a 0.172 batting average over the first two games in this series. That will drop a bit after FAU's 1-2-3 B1.
11 straight Owls (both kinds) retired as we head to T3 scoreless.

Make it 13 straight now with two down in T3...
One hit now for both Owl teams.
FAU has 2 on (1st&2nd) with 2 out in B3
Three run shot for FAU

FAU 3
Rice 0
Crap
B3:

Error, single, first-ever HR for FAU's Shoup over the RF wall. All runs unearned. Grrr.

3-0, FAU ... after 3.
DiCaprio responds with a two run blast of his own, to make it four on the season.
Entering today's game, we're 9-20 on the season. We have 27 games remaining in the regular season. Therefore, to finish the regular season above .500, the Rice Owls need a minimum record of 20-7, starting today. That's a .740 winning percentage from here on out...
Now trailing 4-2 in the B5
FlatLantic gets another in B4. 4-2 FAU.

T5 lead off walk then DP now 2 down.
5th inning 3-up, 3-down for both squads (even with Gray's leadoff walk). 2-4 FAU going to T6

Leoguy: I'm just looking to get to .500 in conference play so we can qualify for conference postseason (our best path toward NCAA postseason)
"The eyes of the (sports) world are on the Sunshine State today," said the FAU announcer ... citing the first pitch in the MLB season, the FAU-Rice "barnburner" -- and Wrestlemania in Orlando. LOL!!!

Nice! Hopefully we can hold our own in that lofty company!!

T6: wunderlich and chandler lead off with two walks on a combined 9 pitches...
Got Myers swinging K after starting out 3-0.
DiCaprio up 1 out 2 on
Dicaprio K'ed
Proctor walks

Sheppard up, two outs, bases juiced.
Dom strikes out (2 down) but chandler walks and we've got bases loaded on no hits (yet)
Sheppard is up
