never heard of CCU's guy
I love how it's just assumed Austin Wilson will beat Josh Stilley for the starting job because "FBS recruit".

Stilley's job is probably as secure as any QB in the conference outside the top 4 on that last.
More than one QB will be in the mix for the QB job at GS. I dont expect it to shake out until end of fall. Shuman's passing is probably tops right now but he is not a dynamic runner straight line or cutting from what I saw last year. If one of the other dynamic running QB's shows good passing I dont see how Shuman keeps the job. Really is going to come down to Cook deciding if running or passing more gives us our best shot this year. If the OL performs like it did last year we could have Tom Brady and it would not matter anyway.
CCU gets the same treatment we all got moving up, no respect. No one will research or learn anything about you. You will be judged solely as a FCS move up and ranked last. Prove them wrong.
I'm not convinced that Hansen's job is secure at this point.

It was similar for Troy back in 2001. That was Troy's transitional year from D1AA to D1A. That same year we shocked Mississippi State 21-9, which helped put Troy on the map.

You've got a chance against Arkansas this year... but that's a tall order compared to Mississippi State. Those 2018 and 2019 games against South Carolina and Kansas though........
I read this list backwards and thought Athlon had listed Silvers as the worst QB in the league.

I am not upset by this - we have no clue how our Qb situation will work out. We have a grad transfer from Syracuse and a bunch of guys that were hurt or moved from different positions. One of our QBs even moved to DB since he's had persistent shoulder issues. Another guy was dismissed from the team but could earn his way back on.

He's Top 3 for sure. I don't know if he's better than Lamb or Linehan, but he's up there for sure.

Get used to it. Even with the lack of coverage in FCS, those that do cover it usually are thorough. In FBS, unless the player is a household name like Marcus Cox, Taylor Lamb, or Brandon Silvers became, the reporting isn't likely to be that accurate.

....he lost one game as a starter?

If Hansen's job isn't secure then Arkansas State will likely be going through the same issues they experiences in the first four games of 2016.

Shuman is probably faster than, or at least as fast as Ellison in a straight line. But I agree his cutting ability hasn't really been shown yet. FWIW Werts has been taking 1st team snaps in practice anyway.

We might finally get a real glimpse of what Shuman looks like running the ball in the spring game. According to an interview he was told to NOT run during games as much as possible because he was our only healthy QB available.

Would that be Avery McCall ? I was peeking at your spring roster and didn't see him on there ....

Yep.
You put Linehan on App or Troy and he's listed as the best QB in the SBC.

In a skills contest I'd put Lamb 4th at best, but as a player he just wins. Fits well in Satt's system. I'd argue he's just a more athletic version of Satt. Below average arm, above average runner, and one heck of leader.
Looking forward to seeing what Damien Williams can do for us. Hoping he's an exciting player.

He made more good throws against Idaho than anyone I saw all year. I think they got the top 3 right, in some order. No idea where the rest of the QBs in the conference rank against each other.

I will say that Linehan has put on another 25 pounds of muscle since the start of last season. He came to Idaho at 185 and he's at 240 now. He's gonna be tough to stop this year.

I'll take the winner any day.

Lamb isn't a great athlete, but might be the smartest qb in the conference, plus, he just finds ways to win.
