Pretty cool, 222. Great info to look at, thanks. Handful of schools with five, another bunch with four---we are not alone.
Hello, my name is Nathan LeClair and I run Verbal Commits. I appreciate you posting our link! It's been quite a feat trying to keep up with all of these transfers...
Thanks for putting in the hard work for us Nathan. I also appreciate the recruiting and roster info on verbal commits.

No problem! As long as you find our site useful, I'll continue doing it.
It is a great site. Where do you get your information, Nathan?
At first I was upset about NIU players transferring, but I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time it happens. This transferring thing is a Nationwide epidemic. I follow Duke basketball pretty closely because I'm a Coach K fan. They just had there 2 Freshman Centers outside of Harry Giles request to be Transferred. They have to deal with 1 and dones, and guys that want more playing time. Lol. Somehow they will still be a contender next year. I'm going to wait and see before I continue to judge Coach Monty.

When will you make your judgment though? Year 8?

How can anybody even compare NIU to Duke when Duke consistently gets 5 star recruits year after year? None of those guys transferring are big losses because they know they will be restocked with their new class.

90% of mid major schools have no issues retaining their players, so why does NIU year after year after year?
Every school loses players, but I bet most of them are players that don't play much. We lose guys who are some of the most talented on the team, guys that can actually score more than the ones that are starting.

It's not really a comparison. All I'm saying if guys are transferring from dream schools to get playing time elsewhere it shows that it's a nationwide problem. We should no longer be surprised. We should still investigate, but nobody should be surprised anymore....

Most transfers are either going down a competition level because they can't get playing time or are grad transfers. We have transfers that are young, promising players that somehow can't get things sorted out at NIU.

Also, if you're going to point out how common it is for players to transfer, why hasn't Monty ever landed any decent transfers that had legitimate offers and potential? Toledo is getting a guy that went to Mizzou and had 15+ offers coming out of HS. Buffalo is getting a former 4* player from Mizzou. Green Bay got a former Marquette player. We get transfers that went the JUCO route because they had very few or no offers coming out of HS.
Threloff from ISU. Orris from Illinois/Kansas State. Anthony Johnson from Purdue. Hardly JUCO kids.

It's part of the NCAA culture now.

Those are fair points. None of them were impact players though.
Impact players don't transfer. But thre and AJ were somewhat impactful at NIU. Obviously Orris didn't pan out but his family death impacted him

I was going to comment on that exactly. Threloff wasn't as good as expected. Either was Orris so they didn't pan out like everyone hoped. Johnson was good but only here for one year so he didn't make a huge impact. We also had Chuks and Pete from lesser programs and they were good role players. This year will be a big test for Lacey James since he will start at center so there's another transfer that should contribute and be an impact player.

From a variety of sources. It used to be mostly aggregation, but it's gotten to the point that now people are giving us updates directly instead of me scouring the Internet to find the latest news.
From hustlebelt.
