"The 2017 Frozen Four, which begins April 6 in Chicago, looks like just as it had been drawn up when the 16-team NCAA Tournament commenced this past weekend:

• No. 1 seed Denver (No. 1-ranked in USCHO), 31-7-4 for a .786 winning percentage.

• No. 1 seed Harvard (No. 2 in USCHO), 28-8-2, for a .763 winning percentage.

• No. 1-seed Minnesota-Duluth (No. 3 in USCHO), 27-6-7, also a .763 winning percentage.

… And finally there is the gate crasher — little ‘ol No. 4 and final seed Notre Dame from the Northeast Regional in Manchester, N.H., with its 23-11-5 ledger — a more modest .654 winning percentage — and ranked outside the top 10.

Remarkably, the Fighting Irish truly lived to fight another day with identical 3-2 upsets of No. 5-ranked Minnesota on Saturday and No. 4- ranked Hockey East rival/nemesis UMass Lowell, both times rallying from deficits in the final period, and defeating the latter in overtime.

HA!
So, Terry, I'm happy for you this year, but how will you feel next year when the Irish are wearing B1G logos? Or will they scuttle the team after the Frozen Four?

This is my last year following ND's hockey team, so I hope that they win the whole thing.
I have admit the main reason I read this thread was to see if it was North Dakota or Notre Dame.
Interest in the Frozen 4 will be large in Chicago with both Notre Dame and Harvard in it. Both programs have significant alumni bases in the region. Happy that the Irish reached the Frozen 4 and even more interesting that they will be a Big 10 member in Ice Hockey Next season.

That will end my ND hockey fandom. It has been fun. I have been a huge anti-Big 10 guy for fifty plus years, so that kills my interest in the program.

Even if they win the National Championship? Wouldn't it be exciting to watch them next year mow down the Big 10, if they are able to?

Not for me. It is a personal choice and that is mine. Personally, I would like ND to boycott the Big Ten in all sports.

I thought BC was NDs hockey rival/nemesis?

So for you - hating the Big 10 is above rooting for Notre Dame?

That might be a reference to the last game of the regular season. ND had a one point lead over UMass-Lowell for the regular season title.

UMass-Lowell beat ND in that game to claim the Hockey East regular season title.

It is above lots of things.

It is a personal preference. Some people dislike Brussel Sprouts, some dislike immigrants, I dislike the Big Ten.

The Big Ten has always been the enemy to me, so I have no interest in watching ND hockey play in that league.
Go ND bring another title home for Hockey East. (just don't get anymore after this one!)
Denver beats UM-Duluth 3-2 to win the national championship. Denver has been excellent all year and will be a favorite next year to repeat. Some people didn't respect the NCHC, who got half it's teams in the NCAA, a day went 1-2 .

National Championships

Michigan - 9
North Dakota - 8
Denver - 8
Wisconsin - 6

What's your stance on brussel sprout-eating B1G fans who are immigrants?

Notre Dame had an open invitation to the NCHC for years. That would have been a stronger league and may nave had a future Ariz St if ND joined. ND's coach, Jeff Jackson was outspoken in favor of a western league rather than Hockey East. Apparently, his opinion means more than yours.
You left out a word. In. ND crashes in the Frozen Four party
Here's rooting for ND to crush the other opponents in the Frozen Four.

I also welcome Notre Dame and the Fighting Irish ICEMEN to the BIG. The Irish have always been and always will be a part of the BIG in my book. Although they have apparently excommunicated themselves from the BIG and their natural longstanding BIG rivals. Or maybe from some of the Notre Dame faithfuls point of view, they have exorcised the BIG from Notre Dame.

On a side note. I hope Harvard hockey is crushed in the Frozen Four. When i was a student in East Lansing, my roommates and I went on a road trip to see Michigan State take on Harvard in hockey at Harvard. They were the most arrogant fans that i have ever encountered. I know that it is a hard concept to believe, but they make Michigan fans not seem like the arrogant ******** that they are.
