From USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/col.../99582450/

College athletics departments will receive amounts ranging from about $165,000 to more than $1.3 million from a one-time supplemental distribution of $200 million the NCAA is making to Division I schools in mid-April, according to a school-by-school distribution report compiled recently by the association.
Looks like our cut will be $759K. That's the highest amount of the current C-USA schools.
Looks like we just found the JJ buyout $$$ we have been looking for. Ha.

His contract expires next year. Let it run its course and use the money to buy a real coach.

Can anyone confirm this? It just seems impossible that we have a coach going into the final year of his contract. It seems even more impossible that he is going into the final year of his contract and nothing has be mentioned about it in any news articles. If it is accurate, it seems he would need a really good season next year to keep his job, because NOBODY let's a coach that they plan on keeping go into the final year of their contact.

My guess based on what i have read here is that he has three years left.

Nine months after he was hired, Old Dominion basketball coach Jeff Jones and the school completed the details of a five-year, $2.5 million contract.
The contract was signed in December 2013.
It runs through April 2018 and calls for Jones to receive a base salary of $206,800, plus $233,200 from privately raised university funds and $60,000 for his weekly radio show and pregame and postgame radio appearances.

Not correct.

What is incorrect?
As a public University his contract is a matter of public record.

The only potential variable is augmentation from private contributions
That, however, would only affect the total compensation, not the structure of the agreement nor totals from public funds.

Meanwhile at UNC waste for mitigation is excessive as they prepare for another NCAA title. Hesitant to drop this one on the CUSA boards as ODU has paid enough for UNC's transgressions.
