Quote:However, once Keystone is completed, only 35 permanent employees would be needed to operate the pipeline along with 15 temporary contractors.

So, the Keystone XL isn't expected to be a boom for the job market by any stretch.
Keystone XL pipeline would only create 35 permanent jobs

35 > 0... The 35 is up for debate. You deliberately picked the lowest estimate.

Increasing the supply typically drops prices.

This is the kind of post I'd expect from a Bernie-economic illiterate.

Quote:Once the pipeline opens it would require only 35 full-time permanent jobs to run it, and 15 full-time temporary jobs, according to the state department report. TransCanada, the company seeking to build the pipeline, does not dispute those numbers.

35 > 0, flood the market with more oil.

Is your analysis of the number of jobs the Keystone XL will create any better than your understanding of how insurance deductibles work?
You're falling for fake news, Tom.

Point out where it says ANYTHING about US steel in here. These projects are under contract right now, not "new" projects.

Quote:At this time, the DAPL is more than 90 percent complete across its entire route. Only a limited portion remains to be constructed.

90% complete. You don't go back for bids when you're that far along. It would cost far more than it is worth.

Quote:We are, and I am, very insistent that if we are going to build pipelines in the United States, the pipes should be made in the United States. So unless there’s difficulty with that … because companies are going to have to sort of gear up. Much pipeline is bought from other countries. From now on we’re going to start making pipeline in the United States. We build it in the United States, we build the pipelines, we want to build the pipe. Going to put a lot of workers, a lot of steel workers back to work.

Trump signed the order calling for the Commerce Department to develop a plan for U.S. steel to be used in “all new pipelines, as well as retrofitted, repaired or expanded pipelines” inside the U.S. “to the maximum extent possible.”

“The Keystone XL Pipeline is currently in the process of being constructed, so it does not count as a new, retrofitted, repaired or expanded pipeline,” the White House spokeswoman said.

By the White House’s judgment, that description would not include Keystone XL, which developer TransCanada first proposed in 2008.

That said, KXL is also almost completed. It's scheduled to go online this year. Based on my experience at least 90% of the pipe is in the ground OR waiting to be installed.

Regarding FUTURE projects....

Not sure what's hard to understand about this.

There's no guarantee that this will even make sense in the long run.
Keystone Pipeline Is A Risky Bet On Higher Oil Prices

out of context...

Quote:We have authorized the construction, one day, of the Keystone and Dakota Access pipelines.  (Applause.)  And issued a new rule.  This took place while I was getting ready to sign.  I said, who makes the pipes for the pipeline?  Well, sir, it comes from all over the world, isn't that wonderful?  I said, nope, it comes from the United States or we're not building one.  (Applause.)  American steel.   If they want a pipeline in the United States, they're going to use pipe that's made in the United States, do we agree?  (Applause.)

Those projects are almost complete. Which is why he refers to future pipelines in his memos since.

Quote:"The way that executive order is written," Sanders said. "It’s specific to new pipelines or those that are being repaired. Since this one is already currently under construction, the steel is already literally sitting there; it would be hard to go back."

FWIW, about 50% of the pipe was US steel anyway.

You're right...I remember when you let Obama slide on trivial things 'out of context'. 03-lol
I didn't let Obama slide because he is a Marxist.

Quote:he Trump administration gave the Keystone XL pipeline its key federal permit Friday, clearing a major hurdle for the project that former President Obama rejected in 2015.

The State Department announced Friday morning that its undersecretary for political affairs, Tom Shannon, issued the permit, two months after President Trump signed a memorandum to revive the project after Obama’s rejection.

“In making his determination that issuance of this permit would serve the national interest, the under secretary considered a range of factors, including but not limited to foreign policy; energy security; environmental, cultural, and economic impacts; and compliance with applicable law and policy,” State said.
