You just have to love those tolerant libs these days. This guy is lucky he got out of NY alive...

Quote:Bartenders at a West Village hot spot served up discrimination — with a liberal twist — refusing to serve a customer because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, according to a lawsuit.

Greg Piatek, 30, an accountant from Philadelphia, claims he was snubbed and eventually 86’d by workers at The Happiest Hour on West 10th Street over his conservative fashion statement, popularized by Donald Trump on the campaign trail, he told The Post.

“Anyone who supports Trump — or believes what you believe — is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” Piatek claims he was told as he was shown the door by a manager.

The shake-up started when Piatek and two pals, after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial, ordered drinks at the posh tavern around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.

A female bartender served Piatek a $15 jalapeño margarita and his pals beers. But when he tried to order a second round, a male bartender noticed his hat — and skipped them, he said.

One of Piatek’s pals pointed out it was their turn to be served, but the bartender scoffed. “Is that hat a joke?” the Manhattan Supreme Court suit claims.[…]

A manager said he spoke to the bar owner, and was told, “Anyone who supports Trump or believes what you believe is not welcome here. And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” according to the suit.

oh uh!
So bakers get fined for not wanting to go to a gay wedding, but if you vote for the other party, you don't get service.

Pelosi's America.
Why aren't conservatives defending these people?

We have defended all businesses to serve whoever they want, everytime one of these stories are presented.

It is the silence from the libturds is deafening.

Screaming like they are wetting their pants when Christians are persecuted over not baking a ***** wedding cake, but silent when it goes the other way.

So, what say you?
Private businesses should be allowed to do as they please.

I'll defend them... They have *every* right to do this and the government should not for a split second get involved in how a small, non-essential, service runs their business.

I can't wait until you're ready to do the same for 75 year old grandma's who's flower business is destroyed by the state gaystapo.

I wonder though, what does the actual owner think of some hipster doofus server walking by a paying customer?
Good!

So now you know where the liberal ******* drink so you don't have to sit with them anymore.
I wonder how much this bar is having to spend in the lawsuit this guy filed. Seems to me serving him would have saved them a lot of money. I guess the hate on the left overrides common sense.

What grounds would he have for a lawsuit?

There are two responses. 1) Everybody who ever had a negative experience there flood yelp and the other on-line reviews; or 2) Test their resolve by having a flood of people with Trump hats go in, filling every seat in the bar. So do they go a whole lunch hour with virtually no revenue? Are they going to call the police to eject 80% of the customers in the bar who aren't causing any trouble? That would probably get themselves arrested for filing a false police report.

Defending them serves no useful purpose other than adding a few drops of urine to this thread.
They can serve who they want. They really should put up a list of people, clothing, and views they will not accept on the front door. Would save confusion.

To me his grounds were created when a Christian couple was fined $150,000 and put out of business.

I will say again as I have always said. Whomever decides to open a business that serves the public, they should be required to serve everyone.
