From what I've seen written about him in the last 2 days he looks like a great hire for us. I'm hoping he can hang on to 2 recruits we have that are wavering. After that, his recruiting pedigree is pretty good. I'll look forward to next year.

The coach involved with that left to go to UMKC after the season Balado was hired.

Agreed. Fairly jealous. Fox has not impressed. I was excited for his hiring. But now I'm jealous of any team that is looking (or has to) for a new coach.


Edit: The SBC is definitely better than the SoCon. When App had a good team, back-in-the-day, even the Davidson game felt like it could be a W. In the SBC it feels like the school is just going to have to face facts and put focus on the program to get results. I want App to have a good BBall game. I feel like we should put the resources to be fighting for a conference championship each year.

It's the kiss of death for us to hire someone's assistant when they are playing in the tourney. Last year Baylor got upset after we hired McCasland, and Louisville immediately gets upset after we hire Balado.

Louisville at least lost to an incredibly hot Michigan team. Baylor somehow lost to Yale.

Louisville coaching had nothing to do with their loss. The players played the second half like they had bags on their heads and concrete blocks and hands.

I thought B1G was a bit undervalued by the selection committee for the most part.

Heard an interesting story via a friend in Kansas City regarding the Louisville assistant who hired the hookers. He claims it all came about because the guy was enamored with the madam who provided the girls and he was doing it to help her out more than to help recruiting.

If that's true, it's an even sadder (and stupider) story.
