Rice defeated USF in the CBI tonight, 85-76. USF was top 100 this season with wins against Utah, Illinois State, and Troy as well as going over .500 in the WCC.
We will host Utah Valley from the WAC on Monday.
Rice won its 2nd round game of the women's WBI tournament today rather easily (honestly the opponent wasn't so hot and then its best player got hurt). We're now in the semis of the tournament and I certainly could see us making it to the championship game. It's not a super tournament (from what I can tell, our men's CBI tournament has better quality competition by comparison) but it does get our women 20 wins for the season and a nice finish to the season.
Nice job Rice keep it going!
This is a very pleasant surprise. Best of luck to the Rice ladies!
Rice loses to Utah Valley at home in the CBI. Really disappointing
And VCU's coach is going to LSU, so now we have to worry about losing Mike Rhoades to VCU.

Jinxed us, thanks!!!
But really this is a thread bump to remind that we're hosting the Idaho women in the WBI semis tonight.
Rice wins the WBI by defeating UNC Greensboro. Finish 21-13.
It's kind of an indication that there is pretty decent women's basketball played in this conference when we finished with a sub .500 record in conference play but were able to win a postseason championship over 4 20-win teams I think? Our two seniors were all-tournament and one was tournament MVP (Hawkins) but the Rice women could be really, really good next year.
