Good luck to our Rice Owl friends in the CBI. Let's show the country that C-USA is not as bad as everyone seems to think.

We are actually playing in the CBI, but thanks!

Sorry! I'll change my post. 03-wink
CBI (hosting San Fran), not CIT, but thanks. There are no C-USA teams in the CIT, as they don't consider us mid-major.

Still haven't seen a full bracket for CBI, though.

Full CBI field. MTSU and Rice are the only CUSA postseason teams this year, which seems crazy to me.
We've had CIT before, everyone must have turned them down. Go Rice.
I'm surprised Marshall's not playing in one of the post-season tourneys. They're a very entertaining team with a passionate fan base. What's the story, Herd folks?
Dantoni has stated before that he doesn't want the expectation to be playing in a pay for play tournament. NCAA or NIT is all he is willing to go to. That is why our Asst Head coach said in the post game interview that we would be happy to get invited to the NIT.

But by the collegeinsider.com definition, teams from FBS conferences except the Sun Belt and MAC plus the Atlantic 10 and Big East are not "mid-major" and should not be eligible for the CIT.

Looking at the 26 teams in the field now, I say good riddance.
LA Tech is a really good team. They should be playing in the postseason.

I think this is extremely short sighted on DD's part. It's not like we are a post season regular. Haven't been dancing in almost 30 years and only 2 NIT appearances in that span.
We only had 1 Top 100 RPI team and they got the NCAA Auto-bid, it should be no surprise to anyone that this was the only team that didn't have to "pay-to-play" in the postseason.
Sucks that this conference is so bad La Tech didnt get an NIT nod. They deserve it. If I was Marshall, I think I may have considered a CBI bid. They overachieved and deserve the reward.
CBI and CIT teams this season are crap, I don't blame anyone turning down those tournaments...Should be NCAA or NIT and nothing else....I can see RIce playing though because they are semi young and should have 3 key guys back next season.....We all knew La. Tech was not going to get an NIT bid from the 24th best conference, not sure why anyone would be surprised...
Tech is definitely good enough for the NIT but my god that OOC SOS is pitiful. Zero top 100 wins and the #246 SOS isn't going to turn any heads.

Yea I mentioned that in another thread, why would La. Tech not schedule better with Mcree coming back? They did nothing to help themselves out this season...
We don't know.
Well, if nothing else, that Rice vs. San Francisco game ought to be a treat.

That's quite kind of the CIT. We're in the P8.
