Some Western fan(s) who don't know that MT/WKU is called 100 Miles of Hate has a pretty ridiculous survey going around about trying to name it "The Red and Blue Rivalry".
Beyond the fact that the rivalry already has a name, there were questions about if Middle fans were poorly educated and if we were badly behaved at games etc.
And then whoever made this dumb*** survey had the audacity to ask if the survey taker would "trip a MT fan" or "injure MT's coach" or "
break the leg of a MT star player" if they could do so with fear of consequences...
Ridiculous.

Isnt this why you hate each other? I don't see the issue. Just be happy to have someone to hate. We have no one, except WVU and they took their ball and went home.

I did not see the survey and won't look for it as I believe, as you do, that is a stupid endeavor.
I will say this, and I hope that this statement is true of most, if not all, CUSA fans.
I root for the Toppers in all sports and want them to win every game, convincingly, if possible. But I would never harass, injure or insult any opposing fan, player or coach.
I have never understood the distaste for someone from another school for doing what I do.... supporting their team.
As a final note to the OP. I hope my post will convince you that in spite of the stupid survey, not all WKU fans are idiots.
And I recall a post you made several years ago regarding insults about fans from KY (WKU) made by fans from TN (MTSU). and I paraphrase, but the gist of your statement was this... We as Southerners catch enough crap from the NE elite and the West Coast loons that we do not need to insult each other. I agreed then and I agree now.

It's a Memphis grad student's work, who is doing some work with a WKU prof. At the end of the survey it asks you to take one on Memphis-Cincy rivarly. Don't get your panties in such a bunch over nothing.

It was posted on our Scout Message board by linsdey someone, she is working with a WKU professor, agreed was crazy questions but it was not just limited to WKU MTSU, pretty sure was also a UNC Duke one too and others...

I was not suggesting that you did. I was just agreeing with you that the survey was stupid and any question related to injuring an opposing player or fan was ludicrous and that I believe the majority of CUSA fans feel the same way.

I really found it bizarre to be honest, I mean there are idiots in every fan base, but most of them aren't dumb enough to actually believe in injuring or wishing ill rival fans/players.
I guess it depends on the class. If it's a psychology class then perhaps it is means of assessing just how f'd one fan base is over the other?

This is a good point, I started to ask if anyone knew more about the source.
I innocently took the survey. When it got to the dufus questions I was actually shaking my head.
I also thought some of the questions were worded in a way that led me to believe English might be the author's second language. Almost, but not on the level of the Funny Engrish Memes.

Not really because I don't hate Middle as much as some or most Western fans.
As somebody with three generations of family who've attended MT and some black sheep kinfolk (two generations) who attended Western; here is a little secret
: WE GOT US A SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP AND IT AINT GONNA CHANGE! Truth is, this is a spectacular sports rivalry that is better now than ever. As long as both MT and WKU offer instate tuition to each other's local residents; it will continue to grow even with stupid surveys.
